See if you can play the movie through Windows Media Player. This will check for coruption on the CD.

You could post your save game here and someone *may* take you past this bit for you.

No point in making a new topic.  Seems I'm having the same problem as the topic creator on the exact same movie.  And it seems to be corrupted.  Is there a way to fix this problem, or am I just stuck in needing a new save?  Or perhaps there's a way to just skip the movie?

Help me out if ya can.

You could download gypt and use that to download the movies, or you could configure the game so it plays the movie from the HD and rename a working movie (I used to rename the eidoslogo movie) to the name of the movie that is corrupted. So, when you will reach that point, the eidoslogo movie will play and you will be able to continue playing afterwards.

It's a shame there aren't any complete lists of downloadable .avi's on the net for these kinds of problems.

Will the renaming trick work for FMVs that have the character models depicted in them?  Cause I noticed that last4_4.avi is corrupt, but I haven't got there yet.  Hate to play all the way there and it not work.  >_<

give me the filename and I will put it on the net for download for you, unless this is considered piracy by the forum and they wont let me, but I dont see the harm in one video clip.  Of course then you will need to edit your ff7 config so it plays all videos of the hard drive to use the file.  Is a good idea anyway to reduce wear and tear on the cd.
