way back when, in the olden days, tobal no 1 had a ff7 demo disk with it for the psx. now during the main menu before you started the demo, there was a great mellow rendition of the crystal theme. my question to you is where can i find this mp3?!?!?!

Do you mean 'Prelude'?

Hmmm. The people who made the demo may have altered the midi to play it mellower.  Go to http://laurasmidiheaven.com/VideoGms.shtml  they have pratically evry midi for every video game made (yes they have the crystal theme).  FF7, chrono trigger, FF3 Zelda You want it they got it.  Once you have the midi you'll have to convert it to an MP3 and that is a different story.

[edit] make sure you try PS1 and PC, there are a million ff7 midis out there. BTW you can download the demo off download.com, and record the theme itno MP3 with windows movie maker

Of course its at laura's midi heaven, you just have to know where to look.
The demo actually uses a ff3 remix of the prelude

Here, I upload the one you are thinking of (I think)
HERE:http://www.geocities.com/spencernooni/FF_INFINITY.mid
Just click the right click the link, and put save target as, etc.

In Laura's midi heaven, you actually had to go to the SNES section under ff3.
To get the one you are thinking of, download the file called ff3 (zip), unzip the folder, and its called "FF_INFINITY[/i][/u]".  You may have to be in IE to download.  There are some other remixes too if thats not the one you are looking for.[/b]

PS That's not my real website.  Its just a junk web site I use for my avatar, etc.

If you want the Prelude song in MP3 then:
1. Get a hold of the PSF of 'Prelude' or a MIDI
2. Install the PSF plugin for Winamp(if you are using a PSF)
3. Set Winamp's Output plugin to Disk Write
4. Play the song and Winamp will make a WAV file out of what you played
5. Convert the WAV to MP3

It probably isn't perfect but it's the song in MP3
