Final Fantasy 7 Weapons I can't beat the underwater weapon

And I am at level 99 and I have knightoftheround table maxed out and phoenix 4 star maxed out and still I can't beat the weapon. I don't get it, this makes no sense to me why this boss is like unbeatable. I even have clouds ulitmate weapon or something... I don't get it!!!

Been a while since i last fought a tough boss, but if i remember right, what i did was:

Use ( Counter + Mime ) and ( Quadra magic + KOTR )
Or ( Counter + Mime ) and ( HP absorb + KOTR ) <- not sure if it was HP absorb, well its the materia that steals HP.
Go take a 5min break, come back and hes dead, this also works against ruby weapon.

If you dont have Mime materia and Quadra magic, its in those caves on the worldmap, i think u need a golden chocobo for that tough.

Quadra magic wont work with kotr =/

But counter-miming with a HP-absorbing kotr sounds like a good way to go =)

Man, I was using KOTR and then it all got fucked up. I was miming and I could tell he was almost dead and my game froze? Nice... Damn game

ARMOR/WEAPON : Master Magic, W-Magic, MP Absorb-Master Summon, MP Turbo-Knights of the Round, Master Command, Enemy Skill, W-Summon, Slash-All, Mega All, HP Plus, Final Attack-Phoenix

(This one can be used with any materia, you can use comet or ultimate with it if you want, but it seems that when ever I cast the spell, the game would somehow freeze, the caracter will stop attacking, the enemy wont do anything, the camera will keep moving and do the caracter and opponent, no one will ever attack, if you have a timer, it will keep going down without you being able to do anything about it)

Emrald isn't immune to gravity.

W-Magic, Gravity-All, Gravity-Quadra Magic, Mime

Start with Demi1, Mime it over and over... stop to heal if you have to. Swich to Demi2 if Quadra Magic runs out, or until Demi1 stops doing 9999 damamge. If Demi2 runs out, use Demi 3. By that time a couple of physical attacks should kill him.  Oh yeah, final attack-phoenix is still required. But you shouldn't need it more than 3 or 4 times. Start the battle with big-guard to get a speed boost.  I beat him without using the underwater materia.

5 minutes isnt long enough, the KOTR animation itself is nearly 2 minutes iirc, and you have to use it nearly 13 times to take down the 1.5 million hp that emerald weapon has.

Battle starts, cloud W-Items a pair of Hero Drinks onto Barret, Barret uses Ungarmax, then you do nothing.

Emerald will be dead in less than two minutes.

This is a world boss that has 1.5 MILLION HP.

Unless you hacked your save file to give yourself KOTR at level 55, you would have no chance.

The localized version (American, and I'm assuming the Euro release as well) had that one, labelled Ultima Weapon, and three others. Or 4 by some accounts.

Diamond Weapon, "Godzilla in a Cocktail Dress" that storms Midgar and kills Rufus Shinra.

Ruby Weapon, the red terror of the desert, who patrols around The Gold Saucer.

And Emerald Weapon, lurker of the ocean deapths.

Some, myself included, like to label a fifth weapon, Saphire, that gets blown to bits by the Mako Cannon at Junon. It's most definately not Emerald, Ruby, Diamond, or Ultima that gets shot there. It doesn't look like any of them. Either way, it doesn't matter, because it gets blown to bits.

The Weapon that attacks Junon was officialy named by Square as "Sapphire Weapon" .

There are 5 Weapons, no more no less.

u have 8 Counter materia linked to 8 Mime materia, u have cloud use W-item to get Barret pumped up with 2 H drinks, then u have Barret use his limit Ungermax on Emerald for 18 supercharged hits. Emerald counters with his generic Beam attack and Barret counter with mime 8 times meaning 8 consecutive Ungermaxs meaning 144 hits of 6000+ damage.
