Is it possible to compile all of the FF7 disks into one mega-dvd, to eliminate disc switching and such? I mean, I do have the original disks and all but they're already scratched to hell and I don't want to run the risk of ruining the game entirely by overusing them (I love this game

)

Can anyone help me?

I'm not sure if its possible but it would require you to bypass the cd copy protection which afaik isn't legal. However copying the Cds onto other Cds should be fine

Would it be possible to copy only the files? My CDs are damaged to the point where a direct copy (to an image) fails due to bad sectors (the game still runs though)

Well... I got them to copy by cleaning the discs really well and using a different, newer burner...

corpse: I tried what you suggested but I really don't trust NoCD cracks for a game this old... on the two occasions I've tried, they've skipped videos and generally acted strange, so I decided I was better off just doing a straight rip again. Thanks though!

So I'm now the owner of a legal backup copy and can play without worrying about destroying my discs... I'm happy!

Now to try those hi-res patches I've read about!
