FF7 PC save help!
« on: 2005-09-26 04:13:38 »
I cannot get the idiotic safe open for the life of me, and this is my "EVERYTHING" playthrough. Not getting ol' Vincey would be...bad.

So, does anyone have a save after getting him and between Nibelhiem/Mt. Nibel and Rocket Town? Around level 30 would be great, but whatever. Also, after Rocket Town is fine, but not any farther than that.

I've found a bunch of saves online but they're all level 99 with sixty billion gil and master materia.

Mod Edit: Moved to game tweaking

Welcome to board.

Why can't you open it? You're always going too far when searching for a number, or don't see them (the numbers) at all?

Haha. Yes, I always go too far. I spent a good long while trying to get it open yesterday, and now have given up!

Try using num-pad instead of analog joypad.

I am using the num-pad. It's a pretty old system and the keyboard is more than a little worn out. But mainly, I'm just terrible at it.

Sorry if it sounds like I'm being difficult, I just want a save.

You've obviously managed to get Vincent, aj. Is there anything special about your game version or your install? The coffin wouldn't open for me at all...

I don't have anything special. Make sure you stand directly in front of the coffin and press talk to open it.

Edit : such great heights , your save file is sent.  :D

Yes, using some of the graphics patches here seems to severely limit the activity areas in-game.  It's possible to bump around something trying to activate it, but have a hard time doing it because the effect area is slimmer.

If I remember correctly, you don't have to stop exactly on the number. You can stop close to it and work your way to it there, then go to the next number that way, etc.
