If that movie crashes in mediaplayer....then the movie is corrupt. If you notice that the sound timing is off, when compairing it from mediaplayer to the game....

The turning down Sound Acceleration might solve it. Go into dxdiag, and move the slider to basic mode.

I had a crash there....my game would crash as soon as Tifa would fall on the Airship. It so happened that the Weapon that screams....would sound off right at that point. The sound timing was off.... Doing the dxdiag thing fixed it on my machine.

But mind you...this was with Win98 using a SBlive card with drivers that were not meant to work with DX9.

nope, i am using the orginal copy of the FF7, produce by EA CLASSICS, are u guys using this copy too? abt 5 years ago i used to have another orginal copy of FF7 pC but it is by orginal SQUARE.inc. i played using a window 95 and the game did not even crash a time.
About the crashing problem, i tried to copy the movies into my HD and change the registry thing, and it runs smooth without crashing at the part again.

that's why I hate eidos/ea. They just suck ass creating such weak conversion of ff7...

On my old Pentium machine, I had this problem and fixed it by installing the official Cyrix chip patch. Not sure how that works, or if it was just some fluke, but it worked.

Hey, could you get me past it too? I'd need to send the file over AIM though, cause my email server has locked me out for some reason. Thanks in advance.
Edit: Never mind, i got it.

Now it locks up after Tifa escapes on the Highwind(Not during the FMV, after it). Why does this only happen after 20 minutes of cutscenes and no saves??? And yeah, I had tried that.
