FF7 PS3 Petition
« on: 2005-11-01 06:36:49 »
I don't know if this has already been posted before, and it'll probably get nowhere, but It'd be cool to see some of you guy's signatures up there.
There's nearly 2800 last time I looked, and we want as many as possible. Most definately.
Peace out.

EDIT - Probably helps if I include the URL. My bad.

What if I can't afford PS3 (I can say that already) but I still want to see a remake of FF7? Shall I lie in a petition that I'll buy that game if it's released?

Square-enix have said they might consider a remake in the future but not anytime soon. Realistically petitions rarely get anywhere and considering the English version of Advent Children has been delayed to spring 2006 it doesn't look promising.

It's what I did. It's not like those petitions ever work, but hey. Worth a try.

Petitions don't do a thing (I've never seen one work at least). I've signed hundreds of petitions for the re-release of SNES games, but nothing ever came of it. I signed your petish just for the heck of it, but I'm getting a Nintendo Revolution, baby :) !

That's sort of pointless, isn't it?

Anyway, just to make it clear, it's not my petition, just something I'd like to see work. As everyone says, petitions hardly ever work, but it could... Square Enix said they'd consider making it if enough people wanted it. This is how we show we do want it, and it wouldn't be a waste of time.

I think Square Enix should remake FFVIII or even make a movie about it.  That's just my opinion.

Petitions don't do a thing

Wrong. They rarely do a thing, there's a big difference. I was instrumental in helping to get Warzone 2100 open sourced through the use of an online petition + various email petitioning to Eidos, and while it took some considerable time and effort, we won and got the game completely open sourced. And Eidos are one bitchy company to deal with too.

I'd agree that a petition like this one isn't likely to have much impact though, since the FF series is still very much alive and Squeenix can pretty much milk it however they want and be sure in the knowledge that plently of people will buy whatever crap they release.

TSW was earth about 2065 as I remember...
But FF8?... I wonder... Zells 'My Final Heaven" :D
Honestly I don't think they'll do it... Loz of FF7AC reminds me little of Zell and Yazoo is kinda connected with Irvine(dual guns) and Squall(gun with blade or at least strenghten to parry melee attacks). That's are thoughts of mine... ;)

But to be honest... TSW wasn't big success and Square created another movie just for fans that was kinda great accomplishment even in "non fan surroundings" as some Square-guy told. So what are your conclusions? ;)

But let's get back on track ;)

I've sworn myself even before than PS3 demo stormed whole web that I'll buy FF7 remake and also console ofcourse :).

The only petition I've ever signed was the "Save Goatse" petition. And that was because it was a freedom of speech issue. And an internet icon.

I must have bad luck for things.

I signed the petition... but... I didn't not see my post. I'll pass it on to my friends.

Anyways. I truely hope they clean it up and re-release it!

It would be a true joy to play through again!

Petitions never work anyway...

If there s a remake coming it s certainly not because of a few petitions...

Well whatever...  :x

What about being honest, and all that "crappy stuff" (as it seems to be these days)? Shall I throw it away just because I'm ff7 fan?

Considering that they've practicly been teasing us with making Advent Children and even made the PS3 Tech. demo I would say that they've already started making it in secret. ($10 it comes out in 2008) lol.
