Yeah, you gotta change the code, which kills the battle swirl and kills the crash. I tried it =)
battle swirl is funkified and wierd, and a bit unsettling, but it works =)
EDIT: Just as a side note: The code change will corrupt some graphic effects; particularily, ones where a textrue is stretched over new 3-d data, such as the sinking floor in KotR, or the Satan Slam part of Vinny/chaos's limit break, and presumably Exit, Titan and Kjata. So a better fix is probably in order.
