For those who can't download it, right-click on the link and save as.

As for a response about the music, I downloaded it and it seems to be good.  There's something catchy in the tune.  With a little editing it could be good for a character theme.  Good Job.  I am learning more C++ programming so that I can also take part of the project.  I know this project will take years, but It could be one hell of a game if it is completed.  Try to come up with more tunes.

That sounds ok, but I couldnt really tell; the WAV was very bad quality. Cant you make an MP3 version? Or could you put up the MIDI if you wrote it that way. What program did you use?

I'm using Finale Notepad but I hate so from now on I'm going to sibelius, a bad thing about finale is that it can't change it into MP3, or midi. Also I can't convert it into sibelius format.

PS I have a better quality wav of the song but it's 4.5mb (so if you have a **** modem it'll be a bit hard.)

It'll need some more editing, it sounds little 'empty' to me. Some background or stuff.

A Bit short for my tastes.

It's also VERY quite. You need to boost the volume about 150-200% or so.

It's a nice diddy, but it DOES sound slightly empty. It reminds me of FF4 and FFMQ music. Very simple.

It's good work. Better than I could do, but then again, I'm into the GFX, not the music.

Not only was the avatar image url wrong, the image is hosted at geocities, which doesn't allow external linking to files...

Well, the best thing to do is to get a web host which enables you to upload files in in (ones with FTP the better)

Here is several sites I found:

Virtual Nine
- 5 MB site.

Freedom To Surf
- It got a bit slower lately.

Go-Build.net
- 20 MB site. Browser upload.

Stormpages
- Browser Upload. It allows only a certain number of image files though to be uploaded though.

That's about all the free good sites I know

Hm, I cant d/l cos it's on Geocities. I've never heard of those programs before, I use Evolution Audio Lite, it's great. I also have Cubase but my PC's a bit too slow, and EAL is pretty fast. If you want to write music for the Remake Project I'd advise you to use one of those as they let you save in MIDI, and I *think* the project's using MIDI.

We are aiming at MIDI for the majority of our music, yes.

However; the current list of formats that the engine supports at the moment is:

MID/RMI/SGT
MP3/MP2/MPG
XM
S3M
MOD
IT
WAV/Compressed WAV
ASF
WMA
AVI

...and streamed internet music. Not that we'll NEED 90% of those formats, but nevertheless, that's what its supports at the moment

Jari, if we could do multiple tracks in FMV, I'd use them for surround sound. The commentary tracks would be for the Remake Collector's Edition DVD. (Which I could burn. I have a DVD writer in one of my other systems.)

I may be going completely off-topic here, but in the sound options on Xenogears there's the option of Wide-stereo. Now I've been playing on my PS in the lounge recently cos my parents are on holiday (:D) and it has 2 seperate speaker, a sub-woofer and the two normal speakers on the TV. Would that wide-stereo option be the kind of thing you're talking about? It's really annoyng though cos it doesnt seem to work on my TV, like on the intro video you can hear music but the speach is very quiet, I dont know why, so I just select ordinary Stereo.

Does anyone know where to download sibelius?
The demo can't save and you can only do two lines of music.

Does that mean support for AVI-video too, or just audio that's inside AVI? Or rather; ability to demux audio from AVI, as it often might be in MP3, for example.

DivX comes to mind as possible format for possible FMVs.  BTW, can it handle AVIs that have multiple audio tracks in them? Just curious, there's not likely to be much need for that, but if someone would like to add something like... a commentary track to FMVs, for example

Currently, it plays the audio track out of AVI's - that's why I mentioned it as a possible music format.

Obviously, I do want to add full AVI (ie. video too!) support to the engine at some point

I don't know whether it handles multiple audio tracks in AVI's ... I'm using a sound library (FMOD) to handle sound output, and a lot of the stuff is currently handled by FMOD ... so it depends on whether FMOD handles multiple audio tracks properly
