Xp Crash Big time

Hello I just got this game but every time I try to run it the game crashes just befor the first fight!!! I tryed installing the XP Patch but when I do that the game wont run at all!! can someone give me some help?

This topic is probably in the wrong forum. Anyway, the XP patch is fake, and you shouldn't use it. As for your problem, try using the battle-swirl fix by dziugo.

Thanks for the tip but it did'nt work. also my problem apperes to be more complex. i am running ver 1.02 and the game crashes every time i run the game!! it wont even start up! I tried re-installing it and it still came up ver 1.02!!
EDIT: I managed to get the game running by getting the original ver 1.00 .exe and replaceing FFVII.exe but not the config. but now in the game cloud has no body and i cant unpack any of the .lgps with .lgp tools!!!! every time I try the whole computer locks up!!! AND I can't apply the hi res patch, on 1.00 it says rong file size and no 1.02 it says crc32 error (or something like that). can somebody help?

Well, even if you legally own the game, as long as you're using the Ultima edition we can't help you because the Ultima edition has some huge flaws with it that make certain problems to solve.
