Reunion Patch Error - Please help

I have applied the 1.02 patch, the high rezz patch ( thank you saint), the hands patch,  chocobo patch, and Ficedula's Music Patch.
I run windows XP.
I have an Nvidia graphics card
The machine is a laptop.

I know people are probably sick of hearing "I have problems installing Reunion". I know. I saw the 30 pages in the forum. most of it was people getting help installing the new lgp.

1) I back up field/char.lgp, field/flevel.lgp, and wm/world_us.lgp
2) I extract (using LGP Tools v1.60) the lgp file to data\field\char\
3) I extract (using LGP Tools v1.60) the lgp file to data\wm\world_us\
4) I run C:\Program Files\Square Soft, Inc\Final Fantasy VII\Xtras\The_Reunion_Patch\Reunion_Patch.exe
5) Click Next
6) Click Next
7) Click Next

I think the hand patch is causing the conflict here, because it modifies the char.lgp. Not 100% certain here tho. Also, I recommend the NPC reconstruction patch over Reunion, because it has many more new field models and the project is still active.

you need the char.lgp and world_us.lgp off the install cd

Yeah well, what can i say? I have had this problem for moutnhs now, and i´ve never found a solution. Your problem COULD be the hand patch, but since i never had this one installed, nor any other patches before i tried installing the reunion patch, its definitly not for sure. But by all means, try uninstalling it before trying next tme. You want to know how i finally got it to work? I simply copied my friends installed char.lgp with the reunion patch (which amizingly worked fine for him) and overwrited my original one. Quite the high-tech answer huh? 

Another sad thing is that i cant find the NPC reconstruction patch to work, by the same problem that causes the Reunion patch to fail. Several people have given me their tips and tricks to overcome the problems, but none of them works. I hate it

I did. I'm pretty sure it may have something to do with one of the previous patches. Heck I could not get the high rezz patch to work till i got the 1.02 patch. I tested what i have for the first time today. it didnt even load right.

I am ununstalling it. I will move patch by install the 1.02 and see if that works, then Ill try the High rezz patch.  You had mentioned NOT to use the hands patch. Where can I find this NPC reconstruction patch? does it have the hands? are there any screen shots i can check out? cause the reunion models seemed incredible. What happened to reunion? did he drop of the face of the earth? i Noticed around page 18-20 he stops posting.

I installed the eidos 1.02 opatch no problem. running nvidia on TNT mode. that works fine. I thought I saw a little jumpness insider the reactor in the begining of the game. but nothing big. its smooths out when you run opposed to walk. and who walks? seriously?

My current problem is getting the high rezz patch to work.

The "hands" patch conflicts with the Reunion/NPC Reconstruction project patches. Therefore, it's recommended you only do one or the other. I'm sure there's a way to do both, but the NPC Reconstruction patch (I recommend you use this one, as well; it has more models, Reunion's models have been resized and better adjusted, and it's still work-in-progress) removes the blocky arms since it totally remodels the models. As for finding the NPC Reconstruction patch, it has a big, old thread sticking right out in your face on the first page.

Before installing it, however, make sure you have clean, unmodified versions of "world_[insert your country here].lgp" and "char.lgp." It modifies both of these, and the NPC Reconstruction patch won't recognize modified versions (and therefore won't patch them). It installs the same way as the Reunion patch, so you can even follow the tutorial thread on this board to install the NPC Reconstruction patch; just replace "Reunion's patch" wherever it's said with "NPC Reconstruction patch."

Reunion didn't necessarily drop off the face of the Earth; I think he stopped updating his project that's all he probably had time for and/or didn't know about those devoted to the NPC project. I'm sure he's found out about the project since, but I'll bet he's too busy to bother too much with it.

After some messing around I figured it out.

I got the 1.02 patch to work
High rezz patch did not work, so I reverted.
1.02 again. works like a charm.
I got reunion to work. but I deleted it.
Tried npc v05 I like it alot more. i'm keeping it. Its amusing to see low res and high res figures interact.

I tried the Sound patch, it crashed the exe file

Try installing the patches in this order, it worked for me:

1.02
NPC reconstruction
Hi-res
Chocobo patch
Yet another multipatcher with minigames fix and battle swirl fix

Still getting a crash now and then but nothing game breaking. Fort Condor battle minigame is a mess tho, but I couldn't be bothered to try and fix it because I don't think it's too important.

The chocobo patch fixes the crashing in the chocobo racing game, and the link can be found in the "Compilation of programs" thread.

Minigames fix puts a frame rate limiter on minigames so they won't be too unplayably fast if you have a fast computer. Finally, I also installed the battle swirl fix to prevent possible crashing when entering battle. YAMP, the patches and the instructions to use them can be found by searching for (surprise surprise) YAMP.

Hope this helps, can't help you with the sound patch tho.

I uninstalled the game countless ammounts of times and tried installing the patch over and over again. The newbie guide was to some help, but it was certinly not that one that gave me the most help, but a lot of other peoples tips did. Seriously, i´ve tried absolutley EVRYTHING to get it to work on my own, but all in vain. It sucks, yeah. And it bothers me that of all the posts i´ve read here that explains the problems i have, NONE of tem have been answered with a solution. Why? There simply dosent seem to be any solution besides copying your friends files
