First, you should find something you're interested in (3d models, music, etc.) and then post again. Then we will know what info you we can give you...

StD: What do you want to decode? That's what Alhexx is asking. Once we know that, we can give you information that will get you going in the right direction.

yeah, same here. look of a post by 'Anonymous' about this. If youre planning on applying for the remake like that tho, your chances are very slim.

With credentials like that I'm sure the remake will be snapping you up faster than I can say

Take a look at http://qhimm.nextff.net/viewtopic.php?topic=486&forum=4 this topic ... it's about hacking file formats.

Like I mentioned before - I use Ultraedit 8 and Hex-Works...
BTW: there's a VB hex-editor called 'Hackman' on the web - for free

It's not THAT easy, but it's the way we do it. Like mirex mentioned in the other topic, we search for repeating values... In textures, a repeating value is the RGBA block. (?? ?? ?? FF)

Hehe..it's gonna be a long way until cracking a file format...
(Damnit, those Parasite Eve 2 CDF files are damn complicated... )

That's a good question. Let me think 'bout it... ah, yes:
It's was Ficedula's .p file description. I always wanted to view/convert the FF7 model files (especially yuffie...). So I joined this forum. I first wanted to seek for help and ask around if someone had made sth like a converter. But then I thought:

Hey, Alhexx, you're a programmer, right? On the web page of someone called 'Ficedula' there's a description AND you've got Milkshape. Why not take this description and try around?

Well, that's the way it started...

And now he's one of our foremost programmers!

I know sh*t about programming, so I'm trying to stay way from it. The 3D/Art side is good enough for me.

BTW: I've got the Cloud model done, and I'll be working on Tifa after school tonight. I'll probably do Yuffie, Cid and Barret next, followed by Cait Sith and Red 13. Then I'm going to re-configure both my Sephiroth 3D and my Xander models so they are the same format as the Game models.

Then it's off to reconfigure evil doers, such as Rufus, Scarlet, The Turks, and maybe the massive army of soldiers and commanders!

And when it's all done... I'll start work on Battle models. Hopefully Alhexx's battle model list will be done by then.
