Convert SGT to MIDI
« on: 2006-06-13 16:28:50 »
Does anybody know a way to convert perfectly SGT to MIDI.. I mean without any change of the rythm or tonnality or preset.  It dosn't seem to have any option in Direct Music producer that is good.  I'd need to do it to modify efficialy the music files of ff8 so they sound better with my SFFS project.

Well there is a need now :-P hehe.  it's because I want to modify specific thing on these songs and Direct music producer doesn't do the tricks so I need to convert these files to midi to open them with another software that is better... well basicaly a software better is a software that is not made by microsoft :-D.  Haha microsft didn't even been able to implement an export to midi.... I think it'd be the less to do to make an export to the format the most used in the world for digital music... Well... it's microsoft.

Isn't SGT basically a MIDI just with the difference that it loops a certain SeGmenT ;) infinitely?

I don't realy know the differecne between SGT and MIDI but they both can loop infinitely at a certain segment... I don't think there is much difference but I can't just change the extention it won't work ...
