antialising with nvidia control panel
« on: 2006-07-20 20:15:16 »
Hey all

Ive been looking through these forums for a while but not actually signed up till now, so I’ll start by saying hello!

Im having difficulty with setting the games antialising using the NVIDIA settings control panel under the 3d settings and cant seem to get anywhere.

The reason why I am trying this is that I used a lcd TV as my monitor and it only has a max res off 1360x768, and with no other resolutions being implemented any time soon I was wondering if its actually possible to introduce antialising instead.

What I have found is that I only notice a difference when the transparency antialising is set to multisampling or super sampling and then antialising setting is set at what ever level I chose. The result is that the character models look smoother, losing there jagged look, but the background goes blocky, as you can see in the pic below:

Is there any way around this or do I just have to sit tight and hope that the high res patch will be made for different resolutions?

This is a well known problem with FF7. The only solutions are to turn of antialiasing or to run in software mode.
