It doesn't make a difference which you get, you'll still need to download the 1.2 patch and the Chocobo patch. They're pretty much the same thing with different packaging, and I think one of them has the manual on CD.

The Eidos one has the patches on the install cd :)

Funny that, I thought it was a pirated version that put patches on the ISO. I always figured that Eidos, being a publisher and all, wouldn't need to include patches but could just change the CD to install the 1.2 version directly if they wanted. I also always figured they'd know better than to include unofficial hackers' patches (chocobo patch) on their products. Thank God you're here to set me straight.

No pirating here. End of discussion.

Actually...

I have the Eidos Platinum Edition CD and it does have some patches on the install disc (1.02 patch and upside-down movie patch) in a separate folder.

Aside from that, there should be no difference in which version you use.

Well it includes a riva-tnt patch and upsidedown patch and a readme which refers to the tech forums (where you can find the chocobo patch).

The upside down movie patch and the tnt patch are official patches, but shoudl only be used if required.therfore they donot instal by default. honestly the upside down movie patch shoudl install by default, but the 1.02 exe shuould only be installed if one is havin issues with the original, because it has bugs the 1.0 does not.

Do you realize how dead this thread was? Almost a month. Please, it seems like everybody feels the need to revive threads now, can you at least look at the date of the previous post?

wasn't dead when I posted to it. (shrug)

Anyway, i'd guess the EA collection would be most recent.
