You know it just cant be done, 7 meelee. I dont know that map, but looks like there is only one bridge to your base ? If so, you can hold on for some moments. In start. But later on, when cpus start to attack with flyers .. no chance.

You know meelee means that computers sees whole map and they play as they are one player (they help each other). So no chance. When they have some small group of force, lets say 8 zealots they send it to you. Mutiply it by 7 players ... total carnage. You cant hold that. Or you have to only defend yourself, no expanding.

He's right.

Code: [Select]

If Cheating = True Then
    Game = Computer.Death
Elseif Melee = True AND Player =< 1 AND Computers =< 1 Then
    Player.Death = MaxComputers / MaxPlayers
    Computer.Death = MaxPlayers / MaxComputers
End if

There's the forumula in plain english using VB code. There's no way to win in Melee alone against even 1 computer without cheating, let alone 7 computers!

oh, c'mon. its perfectly possible. b2b '98 (bridge to bridge combat 98) was one of the most popular maps before BGH. it has approximately 2 entrances per base, and requires expansion within the first 20 minutes or so.

I think that the dark archon's feedback can kill a queen instantly....

Question: How can Parasite allow you to control an enemy?

Joey: parasite doesn't allow you to control an enemy.  It just lets you see what the parasited enemy unit sees.

Sephiroth 3D:  No way to win a Melee vs. one computer?  Sure there is.  I can (sometimes) even beat 2 of them.

I could see how Darkness wins with the cannons . . . the comp is too stupid to figure out ways around them besides blindly wasting its units against them.  Although 7 is pretty many, and is virtually impossible.

I have actually seen someone beat two computers in Melee, on the Big Game Hunters map.  It was very difficult, but he walled himself in so the computers couldn't break though, and then did all Battlecruisers and whopped them.  Any more than two would almost definately be impossible though.

bgh is even easier.... expectially with terran. supply depot the chokepoint, put bunkers behind them, and get seige tanks and a detector and youre set for the next 4 hours or so until you finally need missle turrets.

btw: zealots dont attack supply depots, theyre just like a solid brick wall.

Yeah that's exactly what he did.  He played vs. Terran and Zerg, I think.  The wall is very useful but you have to watch out for enemy Seige Tanks and eventually Nukes... which were his main problems.

ANYWAY
It's pretty impressive if you can beat two comps on Melee, whatever map.

in some situations, the defender's seige tanks can beat the comp's. wraiths or BCs are extremely helpful for defense.

I'll try to play a game with one of you guys some time. I'm fairly good, but I'm used to LAN play, not Bnet, so I'm as good when there is alot of lag.

And a serious pet peeve of mine: I HATE RUSH GAMES! I want a full on war, not a 5-10 minute quick kill.

You want a long game?  Try playing the N64 version.  The N64's 90mhz processor causes multiplayer games to be VERY SLOW; especially with two people + 4 or 5 comps burdening the processor.  The GPU was designed to do 3d, not DirectDraw type stuff.

But.....it does prove that the n64 CAN PLAY MOVIES, like the PSX.  The quality may not be PSX caliber, but at least it plays.
