I was wondering if there was a way to add bone parts to battle models.

You would have to update the entire animation set for the battle model to do so.
The other problem will be with character models in particular because they have a special bone (weapon bone) and it's likely to cause a bit of a problem.
Cloud Tiffa Barret Cid Cait Sith Sephiroth Yufi Vincent each have there own weapon models and animations.
Limit breaks are seperate in terms of animations, with vincent it's seperate models.  Limit breaks are coded mostly.

In the model where Cloud's holding his sword, could you make the hand and sword one model?

Well, I do't want to use the sword exsample per say. I want add a ponytail to yuffie's head model in battle as part of a patch I'm doing.

Would that really have to be an extra bone?  Just merge the back of the head and the ponytail model into one.

How could I do that?
Find Yuffie's head bone and modify it to add the tail? It won't flap about but it will add it too it that way.

Umm...  Ultima?  I dunno if it's quite capable though.  Try the beta PCreator and 3DS max, I'm not quite sure if it works both ways though.

I'm sorry, I have absolutely no idea.  Search the forums.

it requires you to have mapped it on a 3d piece of grid paper then wirting down all the grid co-ord then connecting them to make polys the oly problem with ultima is its slightly more fiddley and time consuming then things like  3ds max
