When I use Dirext3D Hardware Acceleration I have some glitches with the message box and other thing and when I use Software the game go slow it require Pentium 166MHz and 32MB of RAM and I have a AMD Duron 566Mhz and 512 of RAM so I don't understand why it slow the game. Could I do something to make it work correctly?

Software rendering is slow (I used to play on a 400 MHz Pentium 2).  The minimum requirements are more realistic for a machine that has a graphics card that can handle hardware acceleration.
It will be significantly faster if you set the game resolution to 320x240.

Don't know waht to say Aaron. I used to play this game with my old PIII 450 with 128 Mbs of RAM on software renderer (640x480 Full screen) and it played fine most of the time. Animations weren't very smooth sometimes, but there wasn't any serious slowdown.

I used to play the game on a 166 MHz PC, dont know how much RAM, but i played version 1.00, so i couldnt play with hardware rendering. And the game DID run at a resolution of 640x480!

Alright, well then, for me, software rendering was noticeably slow when running at full 640x480 on a 400 MHz P2 (unless it was a rather simple field screen, which generally worked fine).  Although, I didn't really notice until I switched to 320x240 and the game was faster, since I wasn't really familiar with how fast the game was supposed to be.  But after that, I played in 320x240 most of the time for the speed.

In software mode the game will never be as smooth as in hardware mode.
To solve the graphical glithes in hardware mode turn off Anti-aliasing.
Search through here more, it's a common problem.

My graphic card is a NVidia Geforce MMX 440 and I have DirectX9.0c.

It is like that for some other thing like the face of the chocobo at the chocobo race or the Zzz when a caracter is asleep is there something to do to solve these glitches?Maybe with Rivatuner or in my nvidia controle panel...

Sorry for the double-post but i found the solution. I have disabled my 8bit paletted texture and checked NVidia TNT in ff7config and now the game work correctly. But is it normal that the game do this?
