looking for 2d game sprites

im making a 2D game for my final year project but i havent got time to make my own sprites, at the moment im using zelda sprites but i think i might lose marks for it not being 100% legal/ethical without permition .
 does anyone know where i can get sprites for games? i just need a few people and hopefuly some buildings

You didn't read this part, Midgar, did you?
Using (S)NES sprites will not make it more legal than using Zelda sprites...

yeah thats the problem ive found, when i search everything comes up with ripped game sprites, alternativly if i could find something official that said legaly its ok to use them

You could edit them a bit, I mean, it's pixels we're talking about.

He has a valid point. If a sprite is beyond recognition then you can't be accused of ripping them (unless you are found out of course).

yeah i might go down that road if i dont find any in a week or so, ive got like 3 weeks to do 14000 words now im going to be so happy when its over, i think im going to burn my computer lol or atleast turn it off for a few weeks

thanks for those, il probbaly leave the game with zelda graphics at the mopment and add in the write up about it being unethical but barly legal lol.
they are rips and probably not 100% the same , and i emailed nintendo a few weeks ago asking if its ok and if they dont mind they dont need to reply.
and they didnt reply..
