No sound effects or music, Please Help Me!

I just tracked down a copy of ff7 pc. i loaded it up, installed everything and loaded the game up. there is a blank screen instead of the eidos screen, but i don't care about that. the game runs perfectly but there is no sound at all. There is sound during the cutscenes.

I have a Gateway running XP

Realtek HDaudio card (think thats what its called)

intel 3.2ghz

Ive tried EVERYTHING, any help would be much appreciated.

Do you have the 1.02 patch ? Did you try FF7Musci 1.51 by ficedula? Load FF7Music , configure, AND START FF7 by FF7Music.

having trouble finding in_mp3.dll and the out wave one... im an idiot

Nevrmind, found them, FF7 music will not recognise them. Whats strange is that i cant even get any midi sound out of the game. i dont really care if i have mp3s going on, i just want sound. no menu sound, no cats meowing, nothing..

do you have sound in windows on the desktop, on media player?
Did you mute the parameters in config in FF7 (ingame) ?
What's the problem with in_mp3.dll ? at least try the minipsf

Which sound device have you selected in the FF7Config?

ive tried everything in he ff7 config. no sound when i click test. cant get ff7 music to work. been playing without sound, suuuucks.
