Video problems after installing TrueMotion 2.0
« on: 2007-05-07 06:25:59 »
After I installed the Ace Mega Codec (since I couldn't find TrueMotion anywhere else), I can't get some videos to play right.  I'm not sure what file types they are, but I know for sure that the DivX files I have don't work right.  I have sound and a "partial" picture.  It's mostly black and I can kind of see a little bit of dark red where things are moving, but that's all.

TrueMotion directshow filter can be found on the Install CD (alias - Movie Player). Someone pointed out that ffdshow can't decode TM properly so if it's installed, disable the decoding of the TM in it's settings.

I can't seem to find the settings for it.  I know that I've installed TrueMotion, but now I can't find it or its settings anywhere.  I'm really confused.

I think dziugo is talking about ffdshow's settings.

One of my friends said that he'd had a similar problem that he fixed by installing the AC3 audio codec (it was only certain DivX files that were giving him trouble).  I tried that and it still hasn't worked.  I'm getting a bit frustrated now.  I may try something drastic and backup my savegames from FF7 before uninstalling it and the codecs to see if that does it.  Like I said, it's quite frustrating.

Nevermind, I think I just solved the problem by enabling a couple of textures in the Direct 3D tweaks in Rivatuner.  Thanks for the help anyway.
