Hey everybody.
This is my first post but I've been coming here as a guest and reading old topics to educate myself for a while, however the time has come in which I must ask a question or two.
First and foremost: System Specs!
OS: Windows XP SP2 Professional
GPU: NVIDIA GeForce4 440 MX (64 MB. 93.71 Forceware drivers installed)
CPU: Intel P4 1.6 GHz
FFVII Install Type: Maximum
Installed 1.02 Patch: Yes
Mods: Hi-Res, NPC Reconstruction, Hi-Res Cloud, YAMP's Minigame Patch, Dialog Transparancy, Battle-Swirl*, 9999limitbreaker
*Big issue.
Okay, two issues are apparent here. One being that I'm getting a grid-like line problem in the background pictures, however not in my menu, etc. I've had this before and I'm unsure how to fix it. I read the FAQs, but I'm not running an ATI card.
Also: I'm having problems with the battle-swirl fix. I'm unsure if it's the battle-swirl crash or not, because the swirl looks just fine but when I go into battle I crash. As of right now I have yet to check it without the Hi-Res Battle Cloud mod, but it's next on my list. Whenever I apply the battle-swirl fix regardless, it leaves ff7.exe as a 0 KB corrupted file that 'is not a valid w32 application'.
I appreciate any help and thank you all in advance. This place from what I've seen is amazing.
Edit: I uninstalled and reinstalled the game completely, installed 1.02, chocobo patch, and upside down movie patch and loaded everything up. The grid lines are still there, and battles work now, except it seems to show weird distortions instead of the swirl, and the text looks slightly off like the bottom of a text field shows the very top of its own text (hardly distinguishable.)
EDIT: Changed AA to 2x, fixed the text and lines. Apparently we can't close our own topics, but it's 100 percent fixed. Thanks again everybody.
