Actually even though its turn based, it depends what type of materia you have equiped! Thats the strategy, and Ruby is easily one of the hardest bosses in game history.

and emriald can be easy or hard depending on how many materia you have equiped (not sure if it's in total or what)

Thats true, but normally once you have that figured out, you equip certain amounts of materia to each person.

I'm not going to get a gold chocobo. I'm gonna beat ruby.

I know that wasn't the subject, bur really, getting a Gold Chock isn't hard at all. Just requires some patience. You probably read this but heres a "perfect" guide.

I have patience but after 9 or 10 years of trying i've completely given up i couldnt do that since i was 5 or 6 and its not gonna happen now :P. So i'm gonna beat emerald and then i'm gonna beat Ruby.

Alright! It's not up to me. But I eagerly await the day you'll hit your forehead with your palm, sighing hard while realising how easy it really was lol. Good luck with the Weapons!!

I doubt I'll do that, Emerald is easy though, it just depends on who i have in my party. Ruby is the problem and i just cant win still >.<

Ruby is quite, quite simple, if you do a bit of preparation. There's a monster near the Forgotten Capital that you can steal 'Dazers' from - they inflict Paralyze status, which Ruby can be affected by. Grab a bunch of them, then paralyze the heck out of him. It's fine to revive your other two chars after the beginning of the battle.

That's never happened to me (I beat Ruby as soon as I could, with no 'legendary materia')

All I had to do was Dazers, Phoenix, Dazers, (two people cast big damage spells), Dazers, etc...
Emerald was much tougher. I actually needed 'Underwater' :)

People that don't use the underwater materia are eather A. to stupid to use it. B. know that they are most likely going to die C. think that they can easily defete (spelling) it D. trying to use hardly any materia for the air tame stump(not sure if thats the correct spelling)  trick. or E. they accidently ram into it. (i know i have in the past).

I have beaten it without using Underwater, but it needed craploads of preparation. My 'fairly low level' strategy was to cast Demi on him over and over again (he resists Gravity, but is not immune like most bosses) - tiring, but it works.

In my mod both Ruby and Emerald gets full recovery from Fire attacks. Thus Phoenix is useless. Life2+all works fine though.
