Some problems while working with field models
« on: 2007-08-01 09:32:54 »
thanks to everyone, after receiving lots of your help, i did know what to do to replace/modify FF7's models, and the result i got wasn't too bad

but only battle models were fluent, i'm still being stuck in field models, i cant open any skeletons of field model with any versions of Kimera, it only allowed me to open separate part so i had to modify one-by-one and compare to what i saw in Biturn, in this way, what i got are ...

texture went crazy, lgptools also replaced <15 files, no more, i've spent a month to find out the right way but it came to nothing,  and now i need your help

Well after I did my battle models I just sent them of to Weemus to convert, so maybe PM him or something and he might be able to give you a hand.

the data for these models are quite interesting; if i edit a working textured model for battle, it will completely vanish, (tifa/Cid) however for cloud and yuffie, the texture simply messes up, which is what i came to expect from my attempts at converting models before. (done with kimera V0.81)
and if i were to use kimera V0.83 i cannot edit the texture in the slightest, but i can convert from battle to field, but they are currently colourless, which is annoying, then i suppose i could simply recolour them, but they would lose their precise colouring. i shall be spending some time on these models it seems. :)

oh, my bad, command 'Save as' in kimera (why didnt i realize sooner :|), now i gotta rearrange objects from the standard battle form to field form (unfortunately, patience is what i'm losing :-D do you have any tips ), and how does BmCview work, i had looked up it but none of links work, is it different?

*edit: it worked! yeah, my problems were finally solved, thank you a lot

(i would have posted the pic of Cloud in the rocket unless his head hadn't disappeared at the moment i took the snapshot )

Squeeble made a tutorial on how to properly convert KH characters into FF7 battle characters a while back, so try to search for that post ( search for "yuffie" i think was the post title)

I can tell you you will need yazor's khdump, the KH game, adobe photoshop, and a nice amount of spare time.  A link to yazor's program can also be found on here.

Good luck
