The 2.73 is almost the same as 2.75 but 2.73 messes up so use 2.75!

It works! 

However, you've still got a lot of work to do swapping Zack in for battle (although you only need to do the head); text, obscure field models like Cloud in the wheel chair; icons, the world map and the mini games.

Also you shouldn't upload the whole char archieve (highly illegal!) instead, create an auto patcher using LGP tools.  That will also keep the file size down 

Perhaps you should upload the patch to this site:  http://www.hotlinkfiles.com/  This site allows you to direct link to the download file so people trying to download it won't have to wade through advertising!

I've been looking forward to a Zack mod for ages - it's been talked about but never finished (as far as I know).  If you need any help, don't hesitate to shoot me off a PM

It may be beyond the scope of the project, but perhaps you should rescript the text so that "Zack" doesn't have Cloud's identity crisis.  Otherwise the game won't make sense.

Well As I Said THis Is Just A Beta (Very, very Beta!)
It's To bad I Can't fix it on this computer 
I'll have to wait like 4-6 week before i can work on it more!

I have now fixed so instead of clouds face in the menu it's Zacks! 
It also change the face on the menu when he's young! 
I also added some alternative pictures for new game/load screen! (don't shore it' works! A nice person maybe want's to check? )

Then when i have less to to on this patch i maybe will start working on another one tht i will call "The Boring Switch Patch" (My idea is to let peapole vote whose the most boring playing character and then switch into another person that you othervise can't play with! I'll start a new shred for that to let peapole vote!)

Firstly, don't double quadruple post - the mods don't like it.  If you want to add something to your last post, use the edit button.   :wink:  Editing a post also bumps the thread, so there really is no point in cluttering the thread with double posting.

O.K I've tested the new version and it's critiquing time! 

I like the 2nd Zack icon (it's the concept art, right?)  The only problem with it is that it looks majorly pixelated/colour drained compared to the other icons.

The main menu pics cover the "new game/continue box" and only part of it shows.  Maybe you could keep the menu picture the same (it is Zack's buster sword after all  ) and just add the text "The Absolute Zack mod" underneath.  The main menu pic (the part that shows) also becomes a bit pixelated in game.

Very weirdly, the Zack field model swap stopped working after my first test  :?  And when I try and load any game it comes up with the error message:  "Fail to load.AVFD.yos"  and then crashes.  It's most bizzare cos in the char archieve there arn't any files of type ".yos" in there in the first place.

How are you swapping the field models over?  Are you renaming Zack's head P file to replace Cloud's and vice versa or are you renaming hrc files or some other method?  Tis a most bizzare error indeed.

Also, with your website you should check out: www.awardspace.com  Most excellent free hosting service- no forced ads for starters!  Or, another thought on the website stance, you could set up a Live Journal account for the mod.  That way it'd be easy to archieve news and different versions, allow people to comment and advertise it to the many FFVII comunities on LJ etc.

The only problem with the LJ suggestion is that, unless you sign up for a paid account, your stuck using templates (Although there are hundreds to choose from - no exaggeration!)

Last point - the ReadMe is a bit hard to... well, read!  Using capital letters on every word isn't very eye friendly  Also, perhaps it would be better to split out the sections a bit more clearly with some -------- or =======.  Also it probably is a good idea to order the sections:  Title and contact info; introduction, install instructions; previous version info; other things to note; thankyous and then contact info again.

Well actually the ".yos" thing is my problem it's always the same (like reunion and NPC) so i'll have to find out what that means!

hi, as some people are aware, i am working on this, and i wished to state that it's pretty much done, all that's left is to compile it into a patcher or the basic files, but the flevel is annoying. >.<
and we're are using a take on Malach!'s hi hi res cloud but changing it to look like zack, but that is optional, but we are also considering a NPC RP model alternative as well, but that is only if people show interest in it.
some weapon changes are the ultima weapon being the buster sword and the masamune as the Ragnarok. the spell names are also following the style the other final fantasies set. (fire, fira, firaga, cure, cura, curaga, etc)
the field models are zack, and for models that could not simply be made by taking the parts of the file are changed by matching the colours to darken the clothes.
the mini games are zack, well, for the chocobo one anyway, but i could not find where cloud is on the motorcycle mini game to change him to zack, but that's bearable, right? (if anyone knows what cloud's file names are in the motorcycle mini game, please tell us!  )
and that is the end of my update.

well... i read somewhere that the autopatch isn't the the very best to use so thats why i included to original patch files to!

And at this time it's not compitable with NPC but if enough peapole shows intrest one will be done!

did you mean by battle-patch.ffpatch,  (not sure) if yes all i have to do is rename it battle .lgp



edit I found how but it make me a error when apply patch.... Stream read error and it stop at a filein battle.lgp(rtat)

edit2: No the autopatcher work but he stop at the file rtat with the error  Stream Read Error    can you please send me the already patched Battle.lgp plz

Might be a little late for that but if I recall correctly the ".yos" problem in the NPC and Reunion patch was some kind of lgp tools compatibility issus with some version(or configuration) of windows XP...

I think i found the file that are cloud eye and eyebrows in battle .lgp    rtac     i try to make the eyebrows black but  when i try it ingame, ther is white geometric form instead   

can somebody help me


ps  i used the version 2,0 alpha to test it but i think we are close to found  the way of making the Zack eyebrows to Black

actually, the only reason they are like that is because i do not mess with text files on the whole so i didn't change the textures from siaa to rtaa so that the default textures didn't fit the model resulting in those giant orange/yellow eye brows and half eyes that look like dots.
however, i am gonna change that as people seem to not like them for some reason. ^^

thanks  but another thing,  why the autopatcher seems (when patching) to stop patching at the same file "rtat" with the error  Stream Read Error and it do the same thing with lgptools patcher

I have tryed three ways now of trying to make some better way than take all the fully lgp files... autopatcher dosn't seem to work... the ips- tools that is included wiuth teknomans dosn't woprk either and ffpatch either??? so maybe someone know how they did for reunion and NPC???

i believe ice_cold used patch maker to make the patcher for the sephy mod and the NPC RP mod as it says in the installer "patch maker". with a web page reference for you to download it.

i hope you can find something to fix that  i am truly waiting for this to work   and if you can take in to NPC RP it would be one of the best path ever

Patch Maker is an excellent (legally free) program for making patches.  You can download it here:  http://www.clickteam.com/eng/patchmaker.php

The only issue is that if you create a patch for the flevel.lgp, the file size is massive.
