Playin FF7 on my Older pc but backgrounds are messed up

I got ff7 running really well on a Pentium 2 computer with 64mb ram and an Ati Rage IIc card. The game runs perfectly but the backgrounds are all messed up with weird colors all over them. In the config this computer passes all of the graphics tests. Anyone know whats wrong?

This may or may not work, try running it in an older version.  I have XP and it runs ok, but when I played it the first time years ago, I had windows 95 and it worked wonderfully.  Its an old game sometimes running it in an old version of windows can help. Just because your computer says its compatible, doesn't always mean that its going to run the way it is supposed to every time.

I am running the game in windows 98 which it is compatible with.
