FF7 issues (windows 2000)
« on: 2008-02-20 14:07:30 »
Hi all, I've read a lot of post searching for answers to my problem but i didn't found anything. A few years before, i played ff7 at win2k and my game crashed at the first fight against the 2 EX-SOLDIER, so i googled and i downloaded a patch for that error. Yesterday i said to my little brother: "hey, do you want to play ff7? your machine can run it, i played it on it years ago", so i installed the game and played it but at the start of the game, just leaving the train and before the fight, the game crashed giving no error, it just closed like if i was pressing ALT+F4. I tried again, i was fighting against the soldiers with no problems and BAM, my game crashed. (btw, the game crashed in both cases when i pressed any key after 30 secs approx, and to prove that i loaded 2 different save games of different spots of the game and i got the same results, after 30 secs approx. (being or not in battle) when i pressed any key the game "minimized" and closed by itself giving no error message).

I tried with 1.1.1 patch, 1.2 patch, even xp patch but nothing :(
can you help me please?

PS: Sorry for bad written words  :-P

BTW, when i try to change a "map" (i mean, get out of a room, open trade window of vendors or enter to menu screen) the game freezes and crashes bumping this error message: "ff7.exe has generated errors and will be shut down by windows. You must restart the program. An error registry will be created"
