warcraft 3 hosting?

hello anyone who plays warcraft 3 on battlenet
its been a pain in the ass for ages to me,
how the heck do i host on battle.net?!
ive done the following::
-forwarded the necessary ports
-set up a static ip
it still aint working!
btw, im running a laptop which gets its internet access off a wireless network.
could this be the case?

The simplest answer is usually the right one, I'd go with firewall also.

Come to think of it, if your using a wireless router, you may also have to allow it on the routers firewall as well as your own.

I always thought it could have something to do with my wireless router. A friend of mine used to be able to host just fine, but then he bought a better computer and got his internet connection from a wireless router, and hasn't been able to host.

I'm not too sure how to get to my routers firewall.
I'm going to look in to my routers configuration page.
Hopefully i find something.
BTW if anyone is willing to help me out here my router is a D-Link DI-524.

I found my routers firewall, and edited it.
Bad News: Still didn't work
I've lost all hope. x(

Okay, this is the current setting i have for this rule:
Source: * (LAN, WAN)       IP Start: (blank)   IP End: (blank)   
Destination: * (LAN, WAN)     IP Start: (blank)   IP End: (blank)        Protocol: * (TCP, UDP, ICMP)         Port Range: 6112-6119
Schedule: Always

I have a gut feeling that i need to fill in the IP Start IP End fields, but I have no idea what to write in there.
BTW I know and have access to all my numbers so no need for the lecture of "Go to run, Type in cmd, Type in ipconfig, blah blah)

You need to do a port forwarding rule, binding the specific port(s) to a specific ip. The thing you found looks like some kind of QoS setup - you need to find the option like NAT/Port forwarding/etc.

Note: If you're editing your router, please leave it a minute for adjustment before you try.

Forwarding the port requires no starting IP, router already knows what it's ip is.

Just saying that the screen he posted is most likely not a NAT config screen. You only need one IP to do a forwarding, plus it's impossible (well, not practical) to bind a port to a range of hosts (IP Start, IP End) in the local network. I mean, it would work one way, but the remote host will be stunned by 2 connections (2 sets of SEQ numbers).

Ah, sorry, I only looked at the first post for the model. Here is a quick tutorial (it's for bittorrent, but it doesn't really matter). Basically, you're looking for "Advanced->Virtual Server" menu.
