what is the point of Anonymous users?   if poeple want to post on here thay should have a name to go with the message. and it's annoying when i have to switch cpus at school and keep entering my user and password. it should just repromt you or something liek that. oh well just something to think about i guess.

Even if we removed the anonymous users, you would still have to type that info in on every computer you use at school.

The most likely reason we have anonymous users is it will allow people to leave messages without actually commiting to these forums. It also saves server HD space...

I was anonymous to for almost a year.  I have been visiting this forum from a long time, but I didn't post a lot and eventually I forgot my password.  I couldn't log in, and I couldn't get another account because my e-mail was already used.  Anyways, I think letting people to do anonymous posts are helpful.

Registered users can also post an opinion anonymously if they think they might get flamed for posting it (Joey take heed) ;)

thats what i have the problem with. if your registered you shouln't post anonymously. if you have an opinion i think you should say it. people shouldn't flame in return. getting mad is ok but people do have opinions.

so basically what youre sayig is that there shouldnt be an anonymous option? Its been said earlier: Some people want to post and not devote themselves to the forum.

I was just saying if someone didnt want to get flamed for stating an opinion then posting anonymously is better. I, however, have never posted anonymously - This is because I always keep my flame retardent suit firmly buckled and reserve the right to speak utter crap.

i think the first amendemnt doesnt apply to most people on this board. but you do have the right idea. nonetheless, people can hate you for speaking utter crap.

I don't think that free speech applies in the US anymore.
The constitution is dead in the US.  I don't believe that we have the rights that we used to have.  For example, you are supposed to be innocent until proven guilty here in the US.  But now they lock you up for days until the day that you are judged comes, just in case you are guilty.  In other words, you loose your freedom just because you are a suspect on something.  And they take a long time to give the veredict, and after they find you innocent, they just say sorry and let you go.  It pisses me off, that happened to a friend of mine, and it could happen to anyone.
There is no Democracy anymore.

Edit:   Sorry, I got out of the subject a little bit.

jari: i know that :)  the first amendment is just a bad example. (I dont kow how much education people outside the US get on the Constitution)
also, a lot of admins say that "this is not a democracy"

vvalentine: I agree. The 5th and 6th amendments are dying somewhat.
