FFVII; Using the keyboard and not the num pad as the controls

FFVII is working great and everything for me on Windows Vista but now i need some program to open ff7input.cfg or knowledge on actually where to put it or how to use it via command prompt (if anyone is willing to help me go so far as that) because the person who made it on FFVII universe didn't specify where in the FFVII directory to put the file and also he/she (i might not know  ) said that you have to run it and go through that for it to work so i dont know..... HELP, i really hate using the keypad, i nearly lost a 2nd time on the motorcycle part after getting out of Shinra HQ.

The game already will let you change the keys to use when playing the game. After you've loaded up your favorite savegame file, go to the menu and select config, then there is an option called Controller then select customize
