Final Fantasy 7 Crash, Odd one

Hello,
I love FF7, got the game for PS and PC plus ALOT of toys/collectibles so I was a little upset when I re-installed FF7 on the pc, patched it up using the "1.02 patch, npc reconstruction, better battle model, music and saints high res mod" and I get in hit the ff7.exe and got a black screen. I was afraid of this since I just upgraded my vid card from an ati radeon x1300pro 256mb which ran ff7 flawless to an nvidia 9800gt 1gb card. Off to the forum I went and found installing the truemotion codec fixed my vids and could get into game =D then after Barret says "hey newcomer, follow me" I follow him into my first battle, It loaded the battle swirl with no issues but as soon as the battle screen starts to open *can see clouds mid section and soldiers mid section* the game crashes to windows everytime and after 6 hours of searching through the forums I figured its about time to just ask rather than risk sanity loss any further lol I have tried the following.. Minigame patcher with battle swirl fix, turning off 8-bit textures then turned them back on after rebooting and still same thing, all different computability modes, changing resolutions, and I think thats about it. Also all my drivers are up to date.
My system specs are as follows
Windows Vista Home Premium 32bit, AMD Athlon64 X2 Dual core 5000+ 2.60ghz, 2gigs crucial ballistix 1066mhz, Nvidia 9800gt 1gig, 250gig HD *140 free*
I know some people are going to say its a vista issue, but with my ATI card there were no running issues at all with the game. I just dont get it, If anyone can help shed some light on this issue, Id GREATLY appreciate it. Thank you

Nevermind, I got it :) Turned out to be a mistake on my part, when I updated my cloud battle model I accidently clicked "yes" to repack the archive when I wasnt suppose to. After doing that.. no issues :D So much for the "ff7 wont run on vista especially with a nvidia card.....ummm knock on wood there! lol" argument Ive been hearing a few ppl saying, that was one of the few reasons I didnt want to switch my vid card, heard there were problems getting it running, IF at all with these cards... Well thanks anyway guys
Talk to yall later
