Has anyone tried it?
Does the game read physical disc addresses like in FF7 or is it file-system based?

I haven't tried it, but I'd be interested to see if models can be extracted. It has several FFVII characters with different costumes that would be fun to use in FFVII itself.

The models that used in Ehrgeiz is more detailed than in original FF7,so it will be cool just to use them by default(without alternative costumes).BTW still nobody made HQ Tifa or Yuffi model..there was even RedXIII model(as Django)
Cloud costume as ordinary soldier...and other
So i think if somebody will make extracto,it will have a great potential.

here is a thead where i wanted to do the same thing with FF7 Bonus CD

I would also be interested to seem how similar or different the disc layout will be, like is it all in 1 IMG file like ff8 or all open from the start like FF7? I might take alook at my copy today if i do ill take some screenshots of what it contains.

I had completely forgotten that Cloud and co. were also special appearances in this game!
Luckily I have a copy of this game somewhere too, so I will try to help out with things too ff7rules  :-D

I wonder why bother with Ehrgeiz though, seeing as there are better models for usage in Crisis Core, Dissidia and JK3 community.

You could just the same ask, why still play FF7 when there are newer games in which to play as the same characters? ;) It's nice to have a full chronicle of the characters in all of their incarnations, for whatever your reasons may be, from nostalgia to being a completionist.

That said, I actually have an old copy of Ehrgeiz too. In fact, their dynamic dungeon model in the side game is something I thought about quite a bit when considering possible venues for the AVALANCHE gameplay. :) I've never tried looking at the data on the disc, though.

Well, you've got the point. I pretty much collect all Final Fantasy related models in one catalogue on my HDD but I simply never cared to play Ehrgeiz, the fact it was mainly fist and kicks based always put me off.

It would be nice to understand this game a little too, seeing as it has so far been ignored.
Most people probably only care about getting the models from a game, but I for one try to learn more about how these games were constructed. I dont go around reverse-engineering all games though

Ehrgeiz is special because it contains forgotten remnants of the FF7 universe we all love so much.
It's high-time we brough it back into the lime-light a little, lest it becomes forgotten forever
