FF7 Remake Project
« on: 2009-05-17 23:38:02 »
I found a Really good game engine the other day and i think it would suit the whole crisis core game play. I think if we implemented ff7 with crisis core taking the story and the characters from ff7 and putting a crisis core game style to it we would have something really cool.

-The Game engines name is : Torque game Engine

Anybody who's interested in starting something PM Me. BTW take a look at the game engine on garagegames.com if you're a developer that is. It may be a little pricey but you can torrent it if you know the coding well and don't need in depth tutorials.

It's really awesome im making a sonic game off of it right now i'll post pic's if i get the chance.

But yeah i think it would be perfect for making ff7 over again with crisis core gameplay.

I don't think FFVII would do well as an action adventure game. People here live the game as is a classic RPG. If you want to remake a game using that engine why not do before crisis. Or an independent game set in the same world, like the adventures of denzil and marlene when their like 25-30.

I don't see the original FFVII playing very well as an action/adventure game.  I think there might be too much character development, but maybe you could rewrite the script to make it fit.

However, if you want to simply recreate the FFVII world, I'm sure you'll have at least a few people interested in helping, and you may want to try and recruit people from other forums to come over and help.  There are tons of FFVII fanatics.

Yeah all im saying is don't change ff7 at all but make it exactly like crisis core except that you can switch party members by pausing and  selecting change party member and then changing back and forth. Also the battle system would not have the slot machine based summons and skills they would also be in the pause menu. also the map from ff7 would be the same but updated graphix and so would the environment. it would also be in 3rd person view.

Switching between characters has the potential to work.  If implemented correctly it could add some strategy to battles.  I personally really like grimmy307's idea of remaking before crisis.  The entire NTSC-U and PAL market have had no chance at all to play the game.

There are a few sites online that have complete scripts, and even summaries of what is happening.  If you were to do a before crisis I would definitely do what I can to help you out.

But, this is your project.  :-D

the only reason i don't want to do it before crisis is because then i'd have to make sephiroth, angeal or genesis the main char. Hate me later but im Die hard Cloud and Zack fan.

umm, why would you make characters who are not all that important to the story of Before Crisis the main characters.

You could also look at modding MrAdult's AVALANCHE engine if you wished.
Although I beleve the "modding" was more focused around "expansion" of AVALANCHE's mission-set, not really a completly new game.

But a Before-Crises mod (of AVALANCHE) would suit it just fine I think.

Oh, the irony

you could always go a fanfiction story where instead of zack dieing and staying dead hojo gets hold of him does his experiment thing on him effectivly bringing him back from the dead  then he escapes during the sephiroth attack with a bunch of other hojo experiments and there adventures that lead them to creating the WRO

i think something like this would be slightly more beleiveable because i doubt that 9 people could alter the course of an entire planet in such a short time on there own, shinra would still be the bad guys and it would have the potential to fill the gaps between CC,ff7,AC and DC with relitave ease

i would think an action rpg in the rogue galaxy/ Secret of Mana style with slight variants would be appropriate but battle areanas are a must to keep with the FF style but its just an idea
