FF7 Battle crashing totally randomly now`
« on: 2009-09-13 03:32:14 »
Okay I was playing FF7 just fine all day today.

When I finally figured out how to get the NPC patch working, deleted what I had of the reunion patch and replaced my data folder in my ff7 folder by deleting the old one and putting the original one from my CD in it's place.

Now the NPC patch works and all, but when I get into battle after the swirl before the screen comes up it just crashes, any idea how to fix this?

I tried reinstalling FF7 too and nothing.

Edit: I Forgot to mention
I have this installed now
Aali's open GL driver
FF7 1.02
Chocobo Patch
True motion
High Res Cloud
NPC RPC 0.6

Plenty of things that could fix this.

1) Look for dziugo's YAMP and the battle swirl fix, and apply that to your FF7.exe

2) Aali's custom graphics driver seems to fix everything...try that.

3) Shameless self thread promotion

EDIT: Oh yeah, also, (this is general knowledge that should apply to everything) if you're running windows vista, DISABLE USER ACCOUNT CONTROL BY GOING TO THE USERS OPTION IN THE CONTROL PANEL CLASSIC VIEW. I swear that UAC is the only reason vista sucks.

Well i'm on windows XP, I tried the YAMP before and that didn't work.

I tried ali's graphic patch and i'm not even sure if I did it right though.

Well I tried the graphics driver again and this is what happens, it still crashes though.
