FF7/FF8 Strange input with Right Shift Key
« on: 2010-02-13 07:44:41 »
This is a strange bug that doesn't really harm gameplay if a key is rebound but its really weird so I thought I'd ask if anyone had any experience with it, I can confirm this happens on FF7 1.0 , FF7 1.2 and (slightly differently) in FF8 1.2.  I'm using 64-bit Windows 7 on a fairly new Alienware laptop, the problem is that when Right Shift is held down the game interprets it as a combination of key presses (and it doesn't matter what keys those are actually bound to, the shift still triggers them), in FF7 it counts as Confirm, (The key that toggles the minimap display) and Up Arrow, in FF8 it seems to count as Pause and Cancel. Does anyone have any idea what the heck causes this (and someway to stop it, having to be very careful not to touch the Right Shift is a little weird) ?

Thanks

Use an xbox360 controller, ps2 controller with Ps2>USB Converter, or a gamepad.

Only thing I could come up with :X

Good luck with finding a solution that will be right for you.
