Random question about diamond weapon.

Did anyone else ever wonder what happened to the big, hulking body of Diamond Weapon after he was shot with a big, mako-fueled cannon of death? I for one thought it would have been kinda cool to see an effect similar to Ultima's death, and have a permanent addition to the world map of diamonds body, or the crater he may have left after exploding.

Thoughts?

Also, I've been kinda thinking, it would be cool to add an optional battle rematch with Diamond. More powerful, somewhere between Ultima Weapon and Emerald Weapon. New attacks maybe? And better rewards (More EXP/AP/GIL/One Really cool item). I also thought it would be rather cool to try to model him with the new hole in his chest that was produced by the cannon, but I have no experience with modeling, so that was more just a dream. I know there are "empty" battle scenes, I've seen them in PrC and Hojo. So I figure at least a rematch would be possible. Anyway, this part was actually me more asking if someone could tell me how I could make a 2nd battle with Diamond possible. Carry on.

Nah, that's Emerald. Diamond got shot through the chest with a big cannon of death.

It sounds more like he's getting emerald and diamond confused, which I can understand, they are rather similar in form and kinda in abilities, just emerald is a lot more powerful.

Yea, I just kinda thought it was kinda weird the way something as big as diamond weapon just disappeared after getting shot in the chest... without ever so much as a crater from maybe him exploding. Which is kinda why i would like to insert a new boss into the game somewhere that is a remodeled version of diamond with a big hole in his chest. As a random boss like emerald, maybe you could even say he was powered up by the mako from the cannon blast, and put him on par with the two optional bosses. You could even say that maybe it went back into the ocean to try to recover.

That's not fair though. Ultima weapon got a death scene. Technically ruby and emerald didn't but they did turn red and poof. Besides, they were optional bosses, and weren't in the original release.

Actually, from what I understand, even Diamond WEAPON wasn't a boss in the original. The game just goes straight from touching it to the scenes before the Sister Ray is fired.

Hmm, that's kinda funny, it almost seems to be pointless to involve him then xD. However I have found no evidence provided with this statement.

or maybe WEAPON bodies, when not turning red and dissapearing into the great unknown, decompose at a much faster rate then most living organisms, to the point that it has already decomposed back into the soil by the time cloud and everyone else was done with things.

on that note in the beta of ff7 (well at least the demo) your characters would poof red when they got ko'd
