Explain Your Name!

Reading that discussion argument with Herpaderp on names got me thinking, we should have a thread devoted to usernames. What does your username mean? What are its origins? Why did you choose it? Explain as much or as little as you want.

If your name contains "Sephiroth", "Cloud", or any other FF character feel free to not explain it.

Covarr is the first half of my last name, Covarrubias (Hispanic name). The username originated about six years ago when some folks in my precalculus class couldn't pronounce my last name, I decided I liked it, and have been using it online ever since.

As to timu, i rmmbr finding some silly online ap that "translated your name to japanese", pretty much just spat out romaji, so tim smith => Timu Sumisu

Also thought of using Nim or Nihm, somthing like that, as thats what my nephw started calling me before he could pronounce Ts

In 7th grade my church went on a camping retreat to some Native American place.  Me and my friends decided we should all make up Indian names for ourselves... I decided ObeseBear was pretty awesome, another of my friends was SquattingTurtle, and another was something to do with a Squirrel.. I can't remember them all anymore

No doubt about it, I often compare myself to Greek gods.

My name put simply.. is my name. It's the name of a character I came up with for a story I was writing about 3 immortal children who had a big war over who gets to rule the world. One good, one evil, and one who didn't really care. Damyn was the middle man, who walked between good and "evil" keeping balance. And being that he was immortal... yea.

Damyn itself was a name i came up with based off my name Dustin... I didn't think it sounded cool enough for a badass immortal who would fight an ultimate evil before then end of a story. And i always thought Damien was a rather cool name... but yea, kinda over used. So Damyn was born.

Don't do that, girl. I was ready to ask for names and addresses. Even though I don't usually do the White Knight-crap; I've found that girls are quite excellent at taking care of themselves. Some even get angry when you try to help. Fewer still might be able to beat me up.

My screenname here is from my favorite wrestler and 3 random numbers.  I've been using since 1994 (when I was all of 4 years old, +win for always being around computers, its almost like I'm a real life Sunny from MGS...but a dude and stuff)

Last year or so, my AIM buddy list got ridiculously out of control, so I made a new one, PyrokineticDew, as per my friend Kristen's suggestion.  that one comes from my love of setting things (and sometimes myself) on fire, and the fact that I've been known to drink disturbing amounts of Mountain Dew (for example, an entire 2 liter bottle during a band rehearsal, and then another 2 liter bottle on the walk home (a whole 4 blocks)

This is not my usual nickname, this one came about as part of an old joke, my old Counter Strike buddies and I used to use random but related names every time we played, one night we picked song titles by the Lost Prophets, the song in question being Shinobi vs Dragon Ninja, I kinda stuck with it.



My usual nick is Tekkie.X or a variant thereof, I used to really enjoy Technological Studies at school and I'd always say techy for short, people started calling me techy including the teacher and it stuck, the spelling was to make it a bit more internet-y, the X is a Megaman reference as Megaman X was the first of the series that I'd played.

It all started when I was around the age of 10. I fell in love with chocobos. About two years later, I was into decorating my room and wanted to get chocobo stencils and paint chocobos all along the the walls of my room cuz I thought it'd be cool n stuff. I then realized I had this weird obsession over chocobos and started worshiping them. I then made myself a little shrine in my room dedicated solely to chocobos. I then started becoming one. I am now known as chocobo girl. o___o

Okay maybe I exaggerated. I did not build a chocobo shrine, nor did I worship chocobos, nor did I actually become one, but I DID contemplate painting chocobos around my walls.
