Hello. Ok, here's my situation.

I've got FFVII for the pc, I'm running windows XP with SP3, 4 gigs of ram, and a Biostar graphics card.

I've tried installing many times, and every time I try to run it I get "ff7 needs to close due to an error".
I had this working on an older computer, same OS and what not. I've both the 1.02 patch and choccobo patch installed.

Really not sure how to go about fixing this, any and all help would be much appreaciated.

If there's anything I can do to help you help me, please say so.

Thanks!

What's your APP.LOG file say? It's in the same directory as the executable.

The log file is blank, and it's in the same folder.

I was asked this on another forum but got no response when I told them.

What is it supposed to say, if you don't mind my asking?

It's where lots of debug info gets spewed out to. It gets rewritten each time you load it. If it's blank it didn't even get started. That might mean your graphics are incompatible to their drivers. Try using Aali's OpenGL drivers. They're on this forum somewhere.

I downloaded the driver, and ran the .reg file. But it also said to edit the .cfg file.
I havent encountered one of these, and any time I look into it, I get some add trying to get me to  download it's software.

How do I go about opening the .cfg file?

Right click on it and open it in notepad. However, I find it interesting that you had to run a .reg file; that indicates that you have an older version of the driver. The current one is 0.7.7b
