Graphic/Audio/Voice Overhaul Remake Only, No side stuff, no new battle systems, no zombie Aerith, etc. Just what do you look forward to in said Overhaul remake?

What are some of the things you are looking forward to in the remake. Be it for nostalgia, humor, or other reasons.

Mine is some of the alt costumes for the characters. I'm lol thinking about advent children or crisis core graphics level cloud crossdressing. Cant wait to see Tifa's and Aerith's coneo mission outfits

RedXIII and Barret in sailor uniforms.

Already feel like I got spoiled by cloud sephiroth battles in dissidia. Especially seeing Sephiroth topless getting sliced up by omnislash.

And, not to be a downer I love Aerith, one of my friends has a little girl named after her, but I hope they do the full death scene without cutting corners.

I feel they should introduce a leveling system similar to the sphere grid, only less simplistic. I want it to be modeled after mahjong!

Oh, and I also feel that they should introduce the MMO-style battle system like they had in FFXII! That'd be something.

Oh yeah, and it'd be *really* cool if they did away with the world map and made the whole game play like one long dungeon somehow. And they should also add voice acting! And keep the mistranslation in Aeris' name, and also make it so that there's a way to revive her! Oh, and they should voice-act the "this guy are sick" part! Oh, and Cloud should be able to equip the masamune somehow!

Oh yeah, and the game is too damn hard! They should make it easier!

Oh yeah, and they should totally replace the whole "materia" system with the Magic Extraction system they came up with in FFVIII, that was genius!!!!!

Legitimately, I'd like seeing it with detailed, smooth animation, since that's the real big divider between early 3D and "proper" 3D, and that's something that won't ever realistically get modded in, probably. Wouldn't mind a class system, or a re-balance, but odds are the more Square changed outside of graphics and sound, the more they'd cock up, and FF games in general aren't exactly known for being balanced.

I really just love the whole game so much I'm just excited to see everything pulled off in the new generation of games, and everything being voice acted giving more emotion to it. I just REALLY hope everything gameplay-wise stays the same for the most part. ATB is awesome. FFXII's battle system was garbage. ATBs are the best.

Much agreed. I miss the classic RPG style of playing. I'm sorta planning some game development and one of the things I plan to do is classic ATB gameplay.

I sense a disturbance in the force, maybe I should put the post with more detail of my meaning into the first post so that people stop looking stupid.

Titeguy/Sithload; keeping Aerith's name as Aeris, counts. Revival, not to be mentioned on this thread. While there is a curiousity about seeing an advent children Aerith looking like a zombie, I dont think it fits into the storyline very well neh?

I don't want a remake, because as I have said before many times, they will butcher the plot trying to tie ridiculous genesis and other crap into it. They will place way too many action scenes in it that lessen the dramatic impact and crush the dramatic tension. They will use graphics as a substitute for gameplay and going by ultimania they will leave tons of translation errors intact to appease fanbase.

Leave FF7 alone and move on. originality....something Square used to have before Sakaguchi vamoosed and they merged with Enix.

oh well then in that case. i would like to see basically what TA has already started to do simply an update of the style w/ higher res textures and models. i really don't think that there is to much you could add to it with out ruining the game.
example:(world map)
you really can't redo the world map style cause you would basically end up w/ ff12. now image that. running around the world map as a large zones. it sure sounds good until you realize that if you put enemies one the map your sorta forced in to a 12 style battle system,or a chrono trigger style walk in to to fight map., keep the random battles but make it 3d. no matter what you do to it in 3d it would make the world map a completely lame and pointless area other then to travel along. it would also most likely increase the amount of travel time from point to point and as we all know that would kinda be a bummer since most of the game your outside w/o a vehicle just running around, i think that would make the game a lot more boring also even easier since you would be outside fighting stuff gaining levels more

i sense much fail in this.

I feel ya furzball. I'd love to see emotion on the faces of the characters, especially cloud's and tifa's.

Side note - I sure hope they translate everything word for word exactly how real japanese people would say it in their 13th century language and what the Norsemen themselves would say. Cuz I just can't have it any other way than that. Its just not right.

I'm not too interested in a remake seeing as how these forums have pretty much met most of my expectations in one. One thing that would be nice to see though would be a fully rendered 3D environment with a third person camera view, although it wouldn't feel right without an option also for classic "fixed" camera angles for nostalgia purposes.

I'd love to be able to stand in the slums and look up at Midgar, and also to be able to stand on one of the walkways in the sector 7 and 8 reactors and look down at the slums.

Imagine some of the bosses in the game redone in better graphics. GIANT FLYING FISHES OF DOOM! (lower Junon)
Or the Jenova's. I can't wait to see the Snow Witch and other enemy girls. Especially to smack the heck out of a particularly noisy ninja repeatedly.

Oh, The Date scenes!! Imagine how much funnier/better they will be with updated graphics

Also, one of the things I really want to see is the one scene before they go to the crator, where Cloud and Tifa are sleeping on a hilltop near the highwind.

I'd like the FMV's in the remake done like the movie Advent Children. I wish there was a remake $:-\$ . I actually played this game continously in 2 days without sleeping. If there was a remake I'd never sleep again!! hehe
