fields animations are 30fps but fields animation while fmv are 15 fps so if fields is used as 15 fps with 30 fps fmv the animation is messed up.

so 30 fps fmv will look great with 30 fps fields aniation and it's only in this way i'll release the 30 fps fmv
long story short you won't be able to choose because 15 fps fmv will be useless and will only degrade the game comparing to 30 fps

I had two questions about settings though. How do I turn off the transparent dialog and battle windows and have them just be solid like in the original? And also, I am wondering if I can hide the renderer and version info in the upper left? It says D3D11 and the mod version number, but it's there all the time.

I tried it but it does not work for me...
When i launch FF7_SYW V5, i have a message of error and if i continue despite the errors, i can see the window of your mods and i can select what is on the left side (the mods) but not what is on the right side (the resolution, anti aliasing etc) and if i save and launch the game, it does not work, there's just a "please wait" message that never stops...
The error is Microsoft.NET Framework, it says InvalidArgument, Value "0" is not valid for "SelectedIndex" etc if i click on details there's a lot of explanation about that...
Maybe i need to install something first ?
I'm on windows 10 and the game is the steam version 1.09 and until now i was using 7thHeaven (since 2019) and everything worked fine so i think the problem must come from my side.

I just bought the steam version of FF7 just to use this mod. Unfortunately, when running the self contained installer, it is telling me that I require the vanilla steam version? I assumed this means an unmodded copy which mine is.
My next assumption is that I recall there was an earlier steam version of ff7. Is this the version this mod works on?

The game crashes right after the first mako reactor, talk to Aeris, go down one screen, then a big lobby. When I exit south the game goes black but the music keeps playing.Yes it's the modern model + vulkan + some driver witch can do that.
OK so I thought maybe it's because I'm using Vulkan renderer (runs much smoother). No problem I'll go switch. So for some reason IT ERASE THE SAVE GAME? Had to replay the intro to double check, and sure enough if I change the renderer it erases my save. Maybe this has something to do with cloud save? IDK. I can watch the save directory and when the launcher start the save file gets deleted.
OK so I set the renderer to Auto and it doesn't crash. But the game runs much worse.

After playing a bit with 5.20 yesterday and upgrading to 5.23 today, the Control Panel returns an IO Error upon saving ("can't create a file that already exists", but it didn't tell which).

Yes it's the modern model + vulkan + some driver witch can do that.Oh good to know. I switched to the old 3d models anyway because it made the FMVs seem weird to me otherwise. I wonder if there is no middle ground between old and new models like just slightly more defined 3d models but still looks the same as the FMV models.
I'll auto untick 3d moderns models if vulkan is used in next release.

Out in the overworld outside Fort Condor, after beating Yuffie the game crashes and corrupts the Steam save file :(
When starting up a new game now, there's only an option to start a new game.
Got the resolution fixed, apparently I had 2 versions of 7th Heaven running (didn't know updating kept the old version) and needed to remove the old version.Just use a fresh lastest version from scratch.
The game runs but now most of the mods aren't active (despite saying so in 7H) and the audio is awful (sounds like the old 98 MIDI files playing).
Should I just uninstall and reinstall everything?

For the save can you look at this folder on your computer My Documents\Square Enix\FINAL FANTASY VII Steam\user_8666120 and tell me if there's some savexx.ff7 files ?

In the pack version < 5.24, sometime there was a bug with steam ff7's profile folder not well created, and can lead to a lost or displacement of the save files

Is there a known issue with the UI z-buffer in battles? The Guard Scorpion clips heavily through the UI as the camera swings around.look like nothing to do with the mod nor FFNx, seems the ff7_en.exe have bug, could you reproduice the bug 100% time ?
Edit: Also, I paused the game in a battle with three grunts in it and turned away for about 5 minutes. Coming back, the game window is completely black. I can unpause and hear the game but nothing is showing. I'm using the standalone on a vanilla game, no 7th Heaven. I have the Steam Overlay disabled if it means anything. I let it sit another few minutes at the black screen while working on another PC and got this;

Edit2: I noticed the one-eye blinking bug that apparently is known for the PC version. Was there ever a mod to fix this that could be integrated?

However, I have found another bug that has been introduced since the new update (it did not occur prior with 5.24 or lower). It occurs when the overworld is first available in the first town, Kalm. During Cloud's flashback, after Sephiroth leaves the mansion and the city is on fire, the game freezes.

this has to do with hext code applied to the battle menu, the best way to do it is to bring the battle scene to the edge of the UI, but for some reason ffnx and reunion both take the battle scene all the way to the bottom where it can conflict with the UIbecause those "confict" are realy rare and the ui looks better all the way down ^^

Loved the mod, but it would randomly delete my save file. I would come back after not playing for a day and have no save. This happened maybe 3 times before having to uninstall. I have followed your instructions and checked the "Validate files" option for the game inside Steam.Ok a file not modded by my pack was corrupted ^^
It replaced four files that were not valid.
After that, I could run the unmodded Steam version of the game even from the SYW V5 Control Panel.

a "Folder Collision bug" appens if you modded something over my mod.
now uninstaller ATM (will be in the next update).
the easyiest way is to delete the ff7 steam folder and reinstall ff7 with steam (or simply check files after deleted the folder)

this bug can appens when you use d3d12 + modern 3D models.
i'll add a warning about it in the next update, seems related to some unexpected shadow in some modern 3d models.

Steam AIO 5.28 available:
-Solved a potential colision bug.
-Added an option to auto disable saves in cloud (avoid random delete of save files).
-Added an option to auto backup save file each time the game is launched (with auto-restore if save have been deleted).
As some people have random bug with steam save witch self deleting (witch i wasn't able to reproduice), i added an option ("on" by default) witch backup all the saves each time you launch the SYW control pannel.
If you get a save lost, you just need to lauch SYW control pannel again and a message will ask you if you want to auto-restore the lastest saves.
All the backuped saves will also percist in a subfolder "..\Steam\steamapps\common\FINAL FANTASY VII\Backupsaves" with one subfolder for each save, so you can also revert back to another date save manualy if something went wrong.

5.30 is released (please install this version !, it's 1998 exe based to avoid steam/save bugs)
It's not an update you can do, it's a full release.
The main change is that version use 1998 .exe to launch the game instead of the steam's ones.
So no more save delete bug is possible (finally).
The game will also launch faster as it don't need to launch steam first.
The very first time you launch the game it can take some time to launch because it'll need to copy some file.
Out of curiosity, does this mean Steam achievements etc won't work?No.
Is there a way to ONLY restore the old 'Game Over' screen?Just remove the gameover files from the "\SYWV5\disc" folder (e_over_xxxx files) and you'll get back the original gameover screen (unfiltered)

Ran into another glitch just now, with no dialogue boxes showing up in the Temple of the Ancients pool flashback. I tried disabling the transparent dialogue boxes mod to get them to show up, and nada.This is a known bug with some modern 3D model (like the chaos one for exemple)

This is a known bug with some modern 3D model (like the chaos one for exemple)I turned off the Modern 3D Models option and the scene played correctly.
Do you using the iro's or the AIO pack ?I'm using the AIO pack, and the Battle Square slots aren't showing up.
I tried that, and it still produced the bug. The soldiers just popped in as the train stopped instead of already being there during the zoom in. And yes, I used latest 7th Heaven 2.2 and FFNx 1.9.

Although disabling the modern models did fix the Temple of Ancients dialogue, at least.

Swamp area in the Northern Crater, using Mime to build up limit breaks. Was in there for hours when it crashed :-(. Think I used Yuffie's Landscaper too many times in one battle (against flying monsters for the entire duration of 1 cycle Regen) followed by Regen, Cid's Hyper Jump and Mime, then crashed. Sobs.

First bug is rare so no huge problem, but sometimes if I backtrack to the previous screen, Cloud loads up unpside down and about 50 times larger, so you can see the underside of his feet as you move around like the floor is seethrough and hes underneath. Third one is very annoying. If I cast Titan during combat and win, when it loads into open world again everything is black except for characters and a few objects. Only way to fix this is to load into a new area, load into a new battle, or restart. So I've not been able to cast titan. Second, I have some doubts, I would be glad if you can help me:
- The game runs well in my PC less when you are in the forgotten city and find Aerith, you know THAT moment. There are many slowdowns in that zone, any way to fix it? I did try with OpenGL, Direct3d11 and less resolution (even 1x) but nothing.
- I did try the No Chibi FMV videos of DrLilo, and all work fine less the one that Tifa jumps to the Hiwghind rope and the parachute in midgar, any way to do that these videos works well here? It would be amazing have it for better inmersion.
- And finally, I want to play the New Treath mod, my game version is spanish, this mod is compatible with that? Very difficult to install here?

Thank you for this. It worked perfectly with SYW iros and the installation was simply moving the files to the mods/textures directory.
Yeah it wasn't too bad. I was able to organize Satsuki's textures into one big textures folder in the root. Satsuki also had some lgp files, which I manually put in the data folder, making backups of the original, since I'm using Linux, and the overwrite and direct folders don't work with Wine. Works pretty good. I'm not sure what the point of moviecam.lgp is? The movie camera when the fmv plays? "cd" and "movies" had their own moviecam, so I think cd was just for those short transitions to fmvs that happen a lot throughout the game. PS1 games were something huh? So many transitions from in engine to cinematics. You won't find that stuff nowadays.
Could you also upload the modern 3d model and psx music iros to make the iros package complete? They are included in the installer but not as iros.Here's the source for 3d models and psx musics:

I updated the driver to the recommended version recently, and I agree, didn't know these problems with AMD drivers and kind of regret didn't get a Geforce card instead. I looked at https://github.com/bkaradzic/bgfx/issues and couldn't find any issue specific to AMD drivers.
And I wasn't talking about just commercial games. I have used dozens of open-source engines for different games and never encountered this specific issue that seems to be exclusive to FFNx.

Just got the mod installed, in a freshly reinstalled folder of the game. Installed 5.40 and then the 5.42 update, no problems.
Everything is working except the 60 fps patch and the analog controls. Do additional steps need to be taken to enable those?
Curent version is based on 1998 version, so steam option have been removed, if the ps5 controler isn't reconised, it's probably because it's not reconised by FFNx tooSo the patchnotes are wrong!

All ff7 specific tools to extract textures, extract fmv from psx cd, unpack/repack lgp, edits some of the scripts (for 3d models)...
To do the upscaling it's mostly based on esrgan with specifics AI model and mix several results with gimp to get the best of each AI model + manual correction (mostly signs done by Aavock) and looooots of ingame test to hunt for texture bugs and do manual correction.
It's not an "oneclicktooltodoallthejob" it was a complex and (very) long work to get this v5 textures and the AIO pack as it is now

How did you use the Ironite tool? Did you run it with wine? And are you using FFNX as well?
...One issue; the speed hack controller shortcut (L2+R2+Left/Right) doesn't seem to work for me? It's worth noting all other controller shortcuts listed work just fine and as intended. Any ideas? :-\If you are using 60 fps mode + vsync enabled, and if you have a 60 fps display, the speedhack will be invisible because capped at 60hz

try with the keyboard shorcut, it may be related to your gamepad (some gamepad use the same axis for l2 and r2 so you can't realy use l2+r2)

Having a slight problem, anybody else notice that turning on animations actually turns them off on some fields? So with animations set to Full, Recommended, or Light I get animations on every field (that I've played on so far) except after defeating Motorball at the end of the Midgar section. With animations on there are no flashing lights on that field, with animations set to no change the flashing lights appear, but then I have no animations on every other field. I've tried with 60fps on, 30fps on, and OG fps. Loving the mod so far, was just disappointed with that scene, haven't played
too much past that point to see if it happens in other places yet. 2 other things I've noticed is a texture over Cloud when entering Hojo's specimen tank, and the door stays shut on the vehicle that takes you to the golden saucer. Thank you for what you do Satsuki!

I did install the last update and everything seems to be as georgeous as it was on a CRT or even better, but we Spainiards (or at least me), have some big issues with the original translation of this game in our language. The whole game translation's feels like if it was translated by a maschine and, in fact, the translation itself is known gobally for the spanish comunity as a big meme.
Here's an example:
''Savepoint'' which means ''Punto *DE* guardado'' (a place or ''punto'' where you save your progress) and it is translated as ''Guardar punto'' which means ''save a point'' (I don't know, maybe like a score one or something tangible, you know xD) It swaps completly the sense from genitive to infinitive and belive me, this is but the tip of an aberrant iceberg.
Well, jokes aside... I have 0 problem on playing this in english but it's more enjoyable doing it in my own native language so I decided to apply a translation patch before (and after as well) installing the mod itslef. It was okey until I saved my game and I tried to continue with my journey the next day to find that the savegame was corrupted and it isn't an exception, it happens to me all the time.
So now the question is: Is there any way to make this patch run along with this mod?

When I use CTRL + R to soft reset the game, the game seems to lock up when I get into battle. Hello, I have been trying out your series of mods for the Tsunamod package, and while the game runs, there appears to be some strange artifacts where the game will fill in the texture that the specific mod affects with a black and red line pattern as if the texture is missing. This does not appear to be restricted to the Tsunamod package, but also other mods affecting field, world textures, or user interfaces. I know that it is the mods, because turning them off removes the issueAs i say, i'm not doing any 7th support here, also if the bug is present outside my pack, it's probably related to an FFNx setting or your computer, ask in 7th forum ^^
I have an older computer so I am somewhat limted by what my graphics card driver, as I have an AMD Radeon 6480 that is no longer supported by AMD as it is now a legacy driver. I use the OpenGL driver for running FFVII.
Is it directly related to my graphics card driver, or am I doing something wrong? Can the issue be fixed?

There is the bug in SYW V5.64 if turn off "HD Fonts and Menus" and click "Launch FFVII SYW V5" button (throws error that menu folder not found)
In SYW V5.60 this scenario works fine

I have a edited scene.bin. Every time I use your mod it seems at launch it overwrites the scene.bin to the default scene.bin
Is there any way to work around? Have your mod just use the scene.bin I have created?
Making it Read-Only gives a big error at the start.

my next version of aio pack will be friendly with personnal modifications but it probably will take some month to be ready as i'm coding it from scratch
not a mod, it's an hext patchI thought so. I remember doing something similar back when I first played it.
I need help
Everytime I try to launch ff7 through sws control panel it opens the spanish or whatever language .exe that is but not the english one.
