Er yes.. While it is true that some sections did go off-tune but kudos to you for your effort though.. Either way, if you were to want to fix up this arrangement, the main way would be to re-record the cello parts? That's what I think ^^

I'm actually quite a big fan of fan-remixed music - there are just so many talents out there showing how game music can be expressed and altered in many ways ^_^ And this here... Wow.. This is quite a great take on this soundtrack... good job! Although maybe at around the 1:33, the cellos came in too loud and sudden for my liking. And you could have put more emphasis on that melodic line at 1:14. But maybe that's just me. And I want to say that again that you've put quite some effort in recording those cello parts despite having a cheap mic and all - it's really great!

I think that if you want to grow more and hone your remixing skills and talents, I truly recommend that you submit your work to www.vgmix.com. There are tons of people there who know their stuff and they can give feedback on what you've submitted ^_^

Yeah.. I got the right version now! ^^

The world map looks great now. Even the meteor looks happy floating in the sky ^_^;;;

Releases / some buggy screens
« on: 2005-08-16 05:44:14 »
Hey guys, I just wanna say how cool this patch is. However, there are some bugs I see after applying the patch:

1) I think I saw in the previous posts, so yeah, this is one of the battle icons problem : I think there was supposed to be the silence icon there ^_^

http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y61/Frances2005/buggy.jpg

2) This is when I cast Shadow Flare. But I think you're trying to address that problem right?

http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y61/Frances2005/buggy4.jpg

3) I can't see the slots in the battle arena. Is this gonna affect Tifa's and Cait Sith's limit breaks too? This would be a problem...

http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y61/Frances2005/buggy3.jpg

4) The meteor looks weird... ^_^;;;

Anyway, take your time and keep up the great job!  :D

Will i have to start a new game to apply this patch?
and is there a version of this patch where you can get the older model of cloud (the first version battle one)

No, you don't have to start a new game. You can just apply the patch. I did - I was playing disc 2 halfway.

And as for your other question, there is no such version like that - and you'll probably have to ask Reunion about it.

That is rediculously funny.

So you're past Disc 2? I'm where right after you get Vincent. I should be farther but after I got Cosmo Memory I decided to power up Red 13's limits so he could use it right away.  8)

oh, so that means you're in Disc 1? Yeah, I'm past Disc 2...heheh :D

"Sniff, you probably don't remember this" ^_^

hahahahaha.  Seriously, wtf happened to her mouth and eyebrows?

Yes, I know...! It was like awww... then suddenly the expression on Tifa's face really dampens the scene. My friend and I just could not stop laughing hysterically at that when it was really supposed to be sad and all... lol... I wonder whether anything can be done to fix it. Hopefully Reunion sees this and knows what to do...  <looks at the picture again... BWAHAHAHAHAHA... ok I'll stop>

Releases / Okie, here are the screenies...
« on: 2005-08-14 05:18:06 »
Ok, here's something really funny(at least I think so..)

This is the scene in the end of Disc 2 where Tifa and Cloud are talking. The patch does make them look really good like this:

However, at this part, I can't help but roll off laughing:

So much for the sweet part.... ~_^;;;;

p/s: by the well, good for you Yuffie, I'm glad your problem's solved :)

hmm...the only thing I can think of now that is that your char.lgp file is not placed in the right folder. it should be in the squaresoft, inc > final fantasy vii > data > field. Hopefully that was the problem...

On another note, there're some really funny screenies I wanna show you folks on this forum. It happens in disc 3, so yeah, there are spoilers for people who have not played the game. But I don't have a webspace to load them up... oh well... gee what should I do..?

ok ive got the patch 2 work but im still experiencing problems 1:the characters are only different on the world map and 2:im at the bit after riding the chocobo over the swamp and when i get to the bit with the turks its crashes and it also crashes when i use magic HELP!

about characters only appearing on world map, it most probably only means 1 thing - you did not create the char.lgp properly and only the world_us.lgp is patched; which is why Cloud appears as battle-mode Cloud only on the world map. Was your char.lgp file 51020 KB after patching? If it wasn't you have not created the new char.lgp correctly. What version of LGPTools are you using? I had this problem too, and I found that I should have used the latest version (which is version 1.60), not the version 1.55 which I had used ^_^;;

gee... I'm not the expert.. wish I could help you. How big was the char.lgp file after patching? Was it 51020 KB? And if it really doesn't work, maybe you could just reinstall? I know it's pretty tedious, but I guess this are the things you have to put up with...

Releases / tried patching but...
« on: 2005-08-08 00:37:40 »
Hey Reunion, I tried to save over the char.lgp file by dragging the patched files into the old char.lgp archive. Well, I did manage to create a new char.lgp that way, but when I run the game, it crashes at the part where you try to enter the bridge of the Highwind. I then tried to enter Rocket Town (I'm now at the part where Shinra are going to launch the rocket to the meteor). It was fine but it crashes after a few screens :(

From the one of the previous posts, you said to replace the modified menu_us.lgp with the original one. I tried that. It got a little better ie I could go through and fight the Shinra soldiers; and the scene in the rocket where you see Cid talking to Cloud was really cool. However, after the FMV, the game crashes... again. And I still cannot enter the bridge of the Highwind without it crashing. Any idea what was wrong?

One or two minutes you can tell it is done when it starts responding again.

When I try to save over the present file, it never asks me whether I want to overwrite it. Furthermore, it doesn't seem to have an indication that LGPTools is doing something (like the blue bars increasing etc). It just goes back to the LGP Window like nothing happened :( And how can I tell whether the program is responding?

It implies she created an ISO and mounted it using daemon tools.  She said it herself.

Thank you for explaining ^_^ The original CD was kinda scratchy, so I wanted to make a backup copy of it to play on the computer instead of wrecking it further. But looks like I was making an iso of a very bad CD already *sigh* Anyway, I got the new copy from a friend, so there.

Hey, why are your characters in hi-res, out of the world, and mine doesn't?
Can someone tell me why this happens? I can only see the new models in the world  :(
help plz

You are not making the new char.lgp correctly please try creating it again.

Hey, I have the same problem here. I've applied the patch, but I can't seem to create the new char.lgp file. It does not appear in the directory I save it in. Maybe I do not know how to create the lgp file correctly. This is what I did:

1) Under LGP Tools > Create
2) Browse for folder, in this case ... Program Files > Squaresoft, Inc > Final Fantasy VII > data > field > char
3) Save as char.lgp in another drive.
4) Nothing seems to happen.

What am I doing wrong here?

actually, I mounted it on daemon tools. btw, I tried copying the movies onto my hard drive and tried the substitution movie trick. Well, it did work and I got past to the Barret and Tifa scene in the shinra medical room. However, my happiness was short-lived when I suddenly got a black screen the moment I moved Tifa to talk to Barret again. Aaarrggghhh!!!

Ok, I can't take this anymore. I need to go and sleep. I'll try again tomorrow. *sigh*

p/s: btw, I'm a girl ^_^;;

but I thought that if the movie can't run on windows media player, it means that that file is gone/unusable (even if copied to hard drive)? I don't know.. haven't tried doing that yet.

Hey guys, I'm currently stucked at the part where Cloud surrenders the black materia to Sephiroth and the weapons come out of Northern Crater. The FMV simply crashes on me. I've checked that my biglight.avi is corrupted. Could someone please please help me play past that part? If I could, I do not want to tinker with the registries and all that technical stuff. Please let me know if you're willing to help and I'll send my save file to you by email. Thanks
