Cloud with Sword
« on: 2005-10-16 15:08:50 »
Im no good at programming at all or any of this file swapping malarkie so I was wondering if anyone could be able to make cloud hold his sword during normal game (if you get my drift).

For example:

He's walking around Kalm town with his buster sword.

Would it be possible for anyone to do this with the reunion patch cloud (hi-res version of cloud)

thanks

Somewhat impractical.
Basically weapons are different models from the main model.  At issue is you would have to fuse the weapon into the normal model.  It may cause interesting problems such as the sword poking through people or things at various times in the game.  The sword would be stuck in his hand. IE it would be part of his hand.

If you look at the battle models you'll understand what I'm talking about.  Otherwise the sword becomes and extra joint and needs length and rotation information associated with it. The battle system is designed to handle this but the regular FF7 field script engine is not.

aha but I mean the field model of cloud holding the sword.
Using Jenova (the save file editor) and entering the debug room, one of the places has cloud with sword in hand, and you could control him then so I mean if theres already a field model of cloud holding the buster sword, cant you just duplicate the cloud with sword file and rename it to the normal cloud model (its all confusing! so sorry if you got none of that!)

Yeah, that's kinda possible and I think it's easier than Battle > Field conversion. You could just read topic with batle to field mod and maybe there they've written how to change models. I haven't try that but it's neat idea.

Aren't you Polish or similiar?
