Hi Thrashamatrix, good to meet you. Quite a creative topic IMHO...
Around here, I'm known as
odo324. It's an uncreative nick I started back in the early to mid '90s. The "odo" stands for a TV character I had admired back then, representing my confusion about what life really is for and my seriousness in discovering that truth
(the character comes from a scifi show called Deep Space Nine). The 324 part? Well my ISP
(at the time) wouldn't give me an 'odo' email so I had to append a number to it. 324 just seemed right; plus I actually liked typing that with my left hand
(starting with my ever-so-lovely middle finger).
However, that was a very different life then the one I find myself in now. These days I typically go by the alias
Takkun and I’ll probably change it here soon enough. Um, this one is a little hard to explain… Anyone here seen
FLCL? It has got-to-be my favorite series off all-fucking-time! However, my fascination is not with the main character
(who also holds the Takkun nick’) but in the attitude of the characters and the situations that occur as a result. To look at myself in that same manor can be compared to ‘finding an eviction notice on your font door’. Parts of my personality, fragments of my childhood, that just wont go away. In the series, the name
Takkun also goes through a transition of sorts. Through
Mamimi, the originator of the name, it is assigned to whoever is able to provide comfort to her
(or perhaps distraction) vs. the harsh reality she so desperately tries to avoid. It’s a label in which she literally 'uses' in an effort to better herself.
Just noticing this myself… I suppose it’s safe to say that my nicknames have always been a reflection of the evolution for my personality at that period in time.
I am Midgar because it seemed like an original name
before or
after FF7.

it's a Casablanca reference
Uh, I think he’s got a point there... Looking at the avatar now is just... eerie...[/list:u]
