Crisis Core..
« on: 2008-01-03 16:41:22 »
If you haven't yet played the game, be forewarned that this post may contain spoilers.

That said, I have a few questions concerning the storyline.
Ok so Gillian was the first test subject for the newly discovered Jenova roughly 20 years before the original FF7 starts.  She was injected with Jenova cells then one of her eggs was donated to the mayor of Banola and his wife.  Their child was named Genesis.  About a year later Hollander and Gillian had a child together which they named Angeal.  Both of these experiments were known as Project G (for Gillian I assume) and were considered failed experiments as neither child exhibit any signs of greater power.  Later on in their life both Genesis and Angeal begin exhibiting greater strength and abilities, one of which includes the ability to create copies.

Genesis can do so by having his own cells injected into another test subject that had already been injected with Jenova cells.  This causes the person to not only look like him but gain some of his strengths.  I think Angeal is the same except when his cells are used the subjects then turn into monsters that have his face somewhere on their body.  However, if his cells are injected into someone who has not previously received Jenova cells then they will only look like him (Lazard).

For some reason this causes deterioration for both of them.  Almost like it is spreading their life through the subjects and makes their body break down exponentially.

My question is, do I have this right so far?  And if anyone understands the story of how the Tsviets keep their own identities without looking like Genesis please explain it to me.  Crisis Core is great, but damn it can get confusing.

Yes you are right as far as I can see. If it helps you then read this:
http://finalfantasy.wikia.com/wiki/Genesis
Its the story of Crisis Core with some background information.

Unfortunately the part with the Tsviets is one the few things I didnt get myself. They were soldiers before, then they were injected with G cells so why do they not look like Genesis? Maybe their scientist just discovered the right dose or something.

Btw do you still need a spoil of Final Fantasy XII?

Thanks, but it seems like the wiki leaves out a lot of information on certain parts of the game.  Such as Genesis leaving Zack alone after he realizes Zack has been injected with Jenova and Sephiroth's cells and watching his clone transform into a monster instead of reverse deterioration.

Does anyone understand the symbolism of the wings? Or why Angeal has two white ones instead of a single black one?  The only explanation that I can think of is Jenova having a black and white wing originally before being captured.  And once a person injected with her cells allows themselves to become corrupt that is when the wings form.

Don't worry about spoiling FFXII, I will eventually play it again, thanks though  :-)

Yeah thats right the wiki doesnt show everything.

I am happy to see that you decided to play part XII again someday, its a great game, if you continue, youll see.

I know its kinda Star Wars style: The empire and the little rebel group but thats how many Final Fantasys are, think of part 2, part 6 and last but not least part 7^^

I wouldnt recommend part XI as its an online game as you may already know but part XII is really good.

I didnt really like part X-2 cause its to much Charlies Angels style. At the beginning I thought oh cool Tidus somehow came back, how could he manage to do that? Then after 5 hours of playing you get to know that its not really him, just an idiot who looks as ugly as him(named Shuyin). Then the whole story is about Shuyin and Lenne and has nothing to do with Tidus anymore. As Tidus said in part X: "This is MY story...." So if they had to bring out the sequel to part X they should have thought about a way to resurrect Tidus again. I know that this would be rather difficult since he completely dissappeared as a dream of the faith who stopped dreaming but they also found a way to resurrect Hojo, Rufus and even Sephiroth(Where I DO appreciate the resurrection of the latest^^)

When did they resurrect Hojo?
In Dirge of Cerberus it shows an FMV of Hojo lying defeated by Cloud and Co. http://youtube.com/watch?v=jt_BUYmhZCI.  As you progress through the game you find that Hojo basically implanted himself into an "internet" of sorts and makes his wonderful return later in the game even though his body no longer exists.  If you haven't played the game, you aren't missing much.

Back to my question though, does anyone know the significance of the different wings in Crisis Core?  I've checked other forums but all I've found so far are 13 year old fanboys arguing.

Rufus didn't die, so he can't have been resurrected.

Yeah but you know what I mean: In Final Fantasy VII, after defeating Hojo, Cloud says: "Shinra is destroyed." All high-ranked bosses are dead including Heidegger, Scarlet, Palmer, the Turks who fled, Reeve(who has been captured but is still able to play Cait Sith), Hojo and Rufus who is said be dead after the Diamond Weapon onslaught. They don't actually say: Rufus is dead but its obvious and his return is completely senseless as he has no important role in Advent Children(Why the HOLY SHIT should he have Jenovas remnants?) In my eyes should have died and they should have made someone else carry Jenovas remnants.

I *think* the reason that Rufus got geostigma was because of what his company did to the planet. They did bring on the whole story after all.
