What do I need to do to make the music in the game sound like it originally did? It sounds very odd now.

Wanna know? You don't have a codec required to play the movies. Install it from your install disk. Make sure to reboot.

I like how the completely unrelated question was answered, and not the original one :P

Tain: You might want to try downloading "FF7MUSIC" to get the game to play the original playstation music rather than the crappy midi renders... I don't have a link on-hand but I'm sure you can find it if you use the search function!

It, unfortunately, didn't work. :(

Silentbob: Check out the Upside-Down Movie patch. That supposedly fixes it as well.

I must say that as much as people talk about searching before posting, it's pretty hard to find something when there's dozens of threads about something you're looking for.  You'd think it would be easy, but it's not unless you already know which thread to go to.

To be fair, the topic containing the Reunion patch doesn't actually have "Reunion" or "patch" in the title.

But also, the search function doesn't search topic titles only.. it also searches inside the topic.. so.. ya know..

There is a function for searching only in topic titles. That may be what he did.

Not trying to nit-pick or argue, but, these are the only two options I see in there.. so.. unless you have a different version of the forum.. with different options...

Code: [Select]
Search topic title and message text
Search message text only

Hey guys, I'm having a problem where Direct3D won't work, it just looks the same as Software Rendering.

I have an ATI Radeon x300.  I did check the NVidia and TNT box, and selected Direct3D.  But, the graphics don't change and it looks just like Software Rendering.

I read that there is way to manually edit the registry to change it to Direct3D.  Can someone give a link?

TIA.

EDIT: I feel  .  Basically, all I had to do was use higher resolution (via patch) and now it looks amazing.  640x480 looks like Software Rendering on a 1400x1050 screen.

What's the consensus on the sped up minigames and how to slow them down? Supposedly programs like winThrottle can help, but I don't know what to do with it. What does everyone else have it set on?

ff7 ver 1.02???

is this the same as the 1 in edios's support forum "riva tnt patch"???

Also... theres soo many patches around... so i only need to patch to ver 1.02 and chocobo patch thats it??

Also... after i patched the game to "ver 1.02".. when the game loads.. the squaresoft movie does not play... a blank screen simply stays.. until i press enter or space... then the "new game, continue?" screen comes on.. is that normal???  :isee:

guys,

for cant play movie or starting black screen problem, u need "TM20DEC.AX".
u can verify that u have this problem when u cant play the .avi from cd.
u could find this file at ur win98's windows folder.
register it at your xp: regsvr32 TM20DEC.AX

i cant believe the game works after 7 years :D

I believe it that feature was available in an old DOS save editor called CID.
IF ANYONE STILL HAS CID, PLEASE LET ME KNOW
Thanks
